“Jayanta Hazarika Memorial Park” is situated in Chandmari, Guwahati-781003, Kamrup Metro, Assam. Jayanta Hazarika (জয়ন্ত হাজৰিকা) (20 September 1943 – 15 October 1977) was an Assamese Indian singer and composer. He wrote lyrics for a few songs and composed music for several movies. In his short 34 years life span he created many legendary songs that are still widely popular today in Assam. Popularly known as Rana-da, Jayanta Hazarika was the youngest brother of legendry singer of Assam, Late Bhupen Hazarika. He started his musical career accompanying his brother and later made his name as singer and composer on his own right. Jayanta was the first Assamese composer to fuse western musical forms such as rock and roll, jazz and Western Classical with traditional Assamese melodies and created a new sound. He was a pioneer in introducing several western instruments in his compositions.

Its not a park at all. A beautiful statue of Jayanta Hazarika standing there which neglectedly look after. No proper lighting in evening hours. Also dirty commercial surroundings damaging the place environment.

A potential tourist spot but due to lack of people coming here it has turned into something that seems like a many years old park. Also the maintainable is really poor. That's why I feel more people should come here quite often so that it draws attention of the GMC and soon turns into being a beautiful park named after an legend of Assamese music

A small park near the Assam Engineering Institute playground at Chandmari. The authority concerned should pay attention for proper maintenance of the park.
