Jorpukhuri Park

Visited this small park in the evening and found it perfect for a relaxing hangout. The entry fee was just around ₹20, totally worth it. The park is well maintained, clean, and has a peaceful vibe. A great spot to unwind, enjoy nature, or spend time with friends. Had a lovely time and would definitely recommend it for a quiet evening escape.

One of the twin ponds of Jorpukhuri has now been converted into a park. This well maintained park set in the heart of Guwahati offers a peaceful environment. The paved pathway along the side of the pond is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The park looks beautiful when it is illuminated.

I recently visited this small park nearby and I had a great time. The park was well kept, with lots of flowers. There was a space to walk around. The paths were well lit and easy to navigate. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend it to others.

They used to be one pond. The pond was built during the reign of Swargadeo Shiva Singha in 1725. It was connected to the river Brahmaputa by a canal which was navigable. Ahoms royals used to visit Ugratara temple using the canal and boats could come to this pond. British built the road that divided the pond and it became two i.e. couple pond (Jor-pukhuri in Assamese). Now GMDA has converted one pond to a park and entry fee is Rs 20/- as on 2024.

Though small but Beautiful place 4 morning n evening walk, good see inclusive accessible wheelchair entrance.🌿

Beautiful place in the middle 9f the city. People come to spend idle time or walk or jog around. The ambience is really nice. 20 rupees entry fees, and Monday is closed.
