Beautiful Udyan, peaceful and good place.

This a beautiful and enjoyable place specially for children and for others as well. Several installations are there for children to play with. It is good for walking and jogging also. Statues of Radhagovinda Borooah and Dr. Bhupen Hazarika are installed in this park. No toilet and drinking facility is there inside the park. Parking seems to a be a problem sometimes as the vehicles to be parked in the main road outside the park.

The longest pond in the city. This park is Nice and quite place to spend an evening or for morning walk and evening walk. Also boats are available on rent so if you want you can use the pedal boats.

Prashanti Udyan (Garden) means a serene & peaceful garden. It is a division of Assam Tourism department. In this garden there is a big lake known as Dighali (long) Pukhuri (pond) with the boating facilities to enjoy. It has a total land area of 18 bighas including the lake. In the northern side of this garden stands the Guwahati High Court & War Memorial and in the southern side a big statue of legendary singer, music director & writer of India (Assam) Late. Dr. Bhupen Hazarika been installed. This Prashanti Udyan is one of the most visited place in Guwahati city. The place is very nicely maintained. Its surroundings are covered with trees and plants, which made the place most beautiful. This garden & lake is very good place for all section of people. Travelers visiting the Guwahati city should pay a visit to this for refreshment of whole body & mind.
