It's been 3 years in this university as a BCA Student and now I am in my final semester (few months only) So I am gonna tell all pros and cons of this university. I hope this will help you to decide Pros: 1) The campus is so beautiful with greenary and natural beauty 2) The fees structure of this university is low as compared to other private university. If your financial condition is not so good then you can definitely consider this university coz the fees is affordable 3) The faculties of this university is very friendly and helpful. 4) The placement is good as compared to other university which are in assam (Specially for BCA, MCA, MBA and Btech CSE) 5) The infrastructure is good 6) The annual fest of adtu (which is Attitude) is great. 7) If you are not good in communication skills and all, this university will help you to improve your communication skills 8) The course curriculum is good (as per the industry standard) 9) The crowds are very less as compared to other private university. So the competition is less Cons: 1) The management is worst 2) The infrastructure is good but it should be more improved 3) Some facilities are missing like Wifi, AC etc 4) It is not located in the Guwahati city. It is far away from Guwahati (almost 10-12 km). The name of the place is Panikhaiti. The place is little bit backward and in the night you will be facing issues for transportation 5) Even the placement is good as compared to other universities but the company's are basically like sales related and startups. I think they should invite some tech companies also. 6) The guards are so rude and the management is to slow. 7) Even the course curriculum is great but it also little bit hectic coz of assignments, Coursera, quiz, practical copy, presentation etc 8) They focus little bit theory as compared to practical knowledge Overall it's a good university for you if you focus on studies, improve your skills and maintain a good CGPA without any backlog. They will provide you the opportunities but you should be able to grab it by your own. Enjoyment are little bit less as compared to other universities because they focus on studies more. Also the placement cell is good they will push you, guide you to grab a placement offer if you are unable to do it which I don't think other universities will do for their students. So if you are unable to crack JEE or unable to get a good government College then welcome to ADTU. You will not regret that much . But if you want enjoyment more rather then studies then ADTU is not for you About placement: 2024-25 session Till now(11/04/25): Almost 70 companies visited 60 Percent companies are sales background 15 percent are tech companies And 25 percent are other fields related Out of this 70 companies again 60 Percent for MBA 30 percent for BCA, MCA, BTECH CSE And 5 percent for other courses And 5 percent for All UG and PG

I recently visited Assam Don Bosco University to appear for an exam, and the experience was quite disappointing overall. There is a locker facility outside the main gate where you can safely keep your bag for ₹40, which is convenient and well-managed. That was one of the few positives. However, once inside, things get difficult. There is no transportation facility within the campus, and you have to walk and climb a long, steep hill to reach the main exam building. This is extremely tiring, especially for people with health issues or anyone not used to steep walking. During the exam, my system faced multiple technical issues, which delayed my start time and disrupted the process. It was stressful and poorly handled. The washroom conditions were also very bad. There was no flush and no water supply inside. You literally have to go outside, fetch a mug of water, and come back to use the toilet, which is very unhygienic and uncomfortable, especially during an exam day. Because of the poor infrastructure, technical problems, and lack of basic facilities, I would not recommend this place as an exam center.

If there was an award for the most mismanaged university, Assam Downtown would easily win it. The teachers here couldn’t care less most of them are too busy feeding their own egos to actually teach or help students. They’ll dump their own office work on students because apparently doing their actual job is beneath them. Communication between teachers? Nonexistent. One department won’t talk to another, so if you ever need to get any paperwork signed or processed, good luck you’ll be running around like it’s a full-time job just to get a single signature. And don’t expect any manners or professionalism either; you’ll be lucky if you even get basic respect. The management? An even bigger joke. Their only real skill is finding ways to squeeze money out of students for the tiniest misunderstandings. No management, no compassion, no accountability just greed and chaos wrapped in a university name. If you’re thinking about joining here, don’t. Spare yourself the headache. There’s zero guidance, and honestly, zero education happening here. Assam Downtown University is a perfect example of how an institution should not be run. If there was an option of zero starts that's what I would've given.

Review of Assam Downtown University: A Mixed Bag As a former student of Assam Downtown University (ADTU), I offer this review with a mix of perspectives, hoping to provide a balanced picture for prospective students. While ADTU boasts certain strengths, its shortcomings in infrastructure, environment, and student support cannot be ignored. Infrastructure and Environment: Disruptive Noise: Continuous construction and machinery sounds, coupled with limited quiet study spaces, significantly impact focus and academic performance. Accessibility Challenges: The tiny pedestrian bridge, congested bypass, and restricted campus gate opening hours create inconvenient and frustrating daily commutes. Hygiene Concerns: Unclean and smelly washrooms lacking basic amenities like mirrors raise hygiene concerns. Unpleasant odors from drainage and nearby septic tanks further detract from the overall campus experience. Limited Recreation and Sports Facilities: Paid access to most facilities and limited options for recreation and sports restrict student well-being and enjoyment. Library and Accommodation: Restricted Library Access: Short library hours (not extending to 8-9 PM) limit student access to crucial resources. Costly and Average Accommodation: High fees for hostels and PGs, often lacking adequate facilities and cleanliness, burden students financially and compromise living conditions. Limited Visitor Accommodation: The single available hotel option restricts convenient accommodation for visiting family and friends. Additional Concerns: Constant Noise Pollution: Train noise and loud music from surrounding food stalls create an environment detrimental to focused study and peaceful living. Disturbing Noise from PGs: Regular late-night parties and celebrations in PGs disrupt sleep and study schedules. Limited Amenities: The outskirts location lacks cafes, malls, and other basic amenities, leaving students feeling isolated and deprived. Overall: While ADTU offers some positives, such as its central location and focus on employability, the significant limitations in infrastructure, environment, and student support raise serious concerns. Prospective students seeking a focused and conducive academic environment should carefully consider these factors before making a decision. Recommendations: Invest in infrastructure improvements and noise mitigation measures. Expand access to quiet study spaces and extend library hours. Improve hygiene standards in washrooms and address drainage issues. Offer more affordable and well-maintained accommodation options. Provide more recreational and sports facilities for student well-being. Improve accessibility and address concerns regarding the surrounding environment. By addressing these issues, ADTU can create a more positive and supportive learning environment for its students.

Went there for the annual job fair. Big campus which is well maintained and secured. The building can be confusing as it has underground floors also upto level (-3). I almost couldn't find my way out 😂😂 There is also a canteen and snacks store there which serves almost everything. We had chilly chicken combo with veg fried rice and veg noodles, but the chilly chicken didn't taste that good. Overall a gud experience in this hilly area!
