They don’t make bars like they used to. Ashoka’s dim lighting, worn rexine sofa, and old-school décor exude quiet comfort without pretense. It’s a place where time slows, conversations hum, and a drink feels like a ritual.

Scary moment!!!How a well flourished restrobar has taken a devastated look? Will be happy if it regains it's past fraternity. The above pic is sliced chilly pork fry of 220rs.

This is the place I am familiar with since my childhood. It's Inception was before my birth, may be 40 years ago. Though the ambience is not that good but one would feel at home. But I must admit that they have maintained their quality and quantity of food ever since. It's a nostalgic feeling 😌

Ashoka is a legacy. A heritage. It should be declared as a place of national importance.

Located on the H. B. Road in the Panbazar area. This is a bar cum restaurant. The bar was initially a beer bar and later on it was converted into a full fledged bar Being an old business establishment the interior is mediocre. The menu contains IMFL along with a selection of Indian and Chinese dishes. The quality of both food and liquor seem to be good. Prices are reasonable.

Avoid. Please Avoid. Waited nearly half an hour for the food to come, only to realise that the kitchen in not in the vicinity itself bus someplace else. That creates serious doubts whether the food is bought from some other restaurant only to be resold to the potential customers or really fresh cooked. Aside from this fact, the food was of below average quality and worthless. Try at your own risk.

Probably one of the best old school classic bars here in Guwahati. The ambience itself is retro and so are the channels when asked for some old school Bollywood songs. Must try items shall include chicken and pork fried items.
