The Calcutta-themed biryani experience at Amina was truly satisfying, especially for someone who appreciates authentic Kolkata-style flavors. The ambience beautifully reflects old Calcutta charm, with heritage photographs, warm lighting, and a classic Mughlai touch that creates a nostalgic yet comfortable dining atmosphere. The biryani stood out with its long, aromatic basmati rice, lightly spiced masala, and well-cooked chicken pieces, maintaining the subtle and balanced flavor profile that defines Kolkata biryani. The rice grains were perfectly separate and fragrant, not overly oily or heavy. Alongside the biryani, we ordered paneer palak and paneer do pyaza — both proper main-course dishes, not complimentary sides. The paneer palak was smooth and mildly spiced with a rich spinach base, while the paneer do pyaza had a flavorful gravy with well-balanced onion sweetness. Overall, the experience was wholesome, with good food quality, pleasant ambience, and a satisfying Calcutta-style dining feel.

Phenomenal Food. It had been a while since I had Bengali food, so I dropped in to satisfy my craving. In hindsight, I couldn't have picked a better spot. I ordered the Kolkata style Mutton Biryani, Chicken Chaap and Butter Naan. The Biryani was really good; on par with all the great Kolkata biryanis I've had. A tad too oily, but that's part of the style from what I've gathered. As for the Chicken Chaap and Butter Naan...my word... phenomenal! The Chaap was rich and creamy, packed with flavour (cardamom being the star) and the Chicken was succulent. The Butter Naan was a total surprise. Absolute perfection. Soft, pillowy, with crisp, flaky edges. Easily one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Not something I expected to say at a Bengali restaurant. I loved the place so much, I swung by the very next night again. The ambience is decent; nothing to write home about, but very clean. Service is really good and accomodating of requests.

Aminia – A Legacy That Defines Kolkata’s Flavours Since 1929… this iconic eatery continues to preserve the authentic taste and warmth that generations have cherished… The ambiance carries the charm of old Calcutta, while the staff ensures hospitality that feels genuinely heartfelt. It’s rare to find a place where tradition meets taste so beautifully, and Aminia does it effortlessly. A true culinary landmark — one that every food lover must experience at least once

Amazing Mughlai and Indian tandoori food! Every dish was flavorful and well-prepared, especially the mutton chap — tender, juicy, and perfectly spiced. Service was fast, and the staff were polite and attentive. Pricing was reasonable and truly value for money. The Chicken Khada Masala with naan is a must try. The Tandoori chicken as starter was also very yummy. A great spot for anyone who loves authentic Mughlai flavors and a satisfying dining experience!

Reshmi Chicken Kabab and mutton Biryani was good but the mutton chap pieces were too boney and small in size.. I had better experience with Aminia Siliguri

After almost a year, I finally tasted a biryani that made me pause mid bite and smile. Ordered it online, so honestly my expectations were decent but not sky high. One spoon in and it was clear this wasn’t just another biryani. The aroma hit first, then the perfectly cooked rice, the balance of spices and the meat that was tender and full of flavour. Nothing overpowering, nothing missing. Just comfort, warmth and that old school biryani satisfaction that’s hard to find these days. What really stood out was how fresh and thoughtfully made it felt, even through a delivery box. If it tastes this good at home, I can only imagine how special it must be when served hot at the restaurant. This is the kind of biryani you remember. The kind that makes you want to tell people about it. A must visit for any biryani lover and a big compliment to the team behind it. You’ve truly got something special cooking here.
