An amazing place to visit to if you're wanting an explotion in your taste buds. This place serves Authentic Manipuri Cuisine. The food is exceptionally tasty and the quality of it is out of this world. The price is absolutely reasonable and justified by the quantity they are serving here at La-phoi. Rest the ambience is good enough and the staff are well behaved and attentive. Do give this place and visit and please try out their awesome authentic food.

Seeing their high ratings, we thought of trying authentic Manipuri cuisine at La-Phoi on the occasion of our 77th Republic Day 2026! The cafe is beautifully decorated with bamboo handicrafts and other handcrafted show-pieces, giving a glimpse of the Manipuri culture. They also played Manipuri songs to add to the experience. The staff is very polite and responsive. We went there for a family lunch and ordered Manipuri thalis and duck curry (today's special). But it just wasn't "our day" or theirs. Their stock of Manipuri sticky rice had run out so they served normal rice. The thalis were cold; the rice was cold, eromba, lentils and other accompanying dishes were cold. We were already not very happy. But then another tragedy befell us. As I dug into the duck curry and put a piece with some gravy on to my plate, a thick long black hair was hanging from my spoon. The whole experience went downhill from there. However, they immediately look into it and replaced the curry with another. Overall it was an average experience but hope they do better next time!

We had a chance to go explore the Manipuri Cuisine at La Phoi. We loved the set up and arrangements or certain artisanal artifacts and traditional bamboo based equipment were placed. The Thali was adequately portioned along with thoughtful table mats and warm lighting. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there especially because of TADO and SILBEA, who took great care of us and explained each and every dish that we had ordered and suggested some Special Teas from Dwellers - Manipur. I would say it was a wholesome experience and I cannot comment on the authenticity as it was my first experience of having Manipuri Food but the flavours surely tickled my taste buds and I deliberately tried out the spiciest things on the menu. THANK YOU TEAM - LA PHOI!

Ordered chicken thali from zomato, Earlier also ordered pork bamboo shoot thali, Gotta say la phoi is serving excellent manipuri food out here in ghy, Ooti was my personal fav, Eromba had that perfect taste of umami from ngari, and the kangsoi was soul calming, light, simple yet delicious, Rest of the dishes were amazing as well, Wish the singju was fresher, but understandable, muk hawai thongba, alu kangmet & badam khamen atouba—perfect amount of salt haha. Rice got that al dente perfection lmao Minor drawbacks: the chak hao kheer could've had some nuts or dried coconuts, could've been a little sweeter, also it had quiet a strong taste of food-grade camphor— it could've been less and mixed well (BTW I added almonds myself lol) The chicken curry was a Little too oily, and seemed like it was made with readymade pkg.masala(as said by my mom), still tasted good. Culantro in chicken curry was the cherry on top! Overall, what a thali! Had a great lunch, my mom also made some bora with heron flower/bok phool & chilli pepper, on the side.

It is an art cafe. The atmosphere is very calm. The food served is local to the state of Manipuri. With fresh herbs and vegetables highlighted in the dishes prepared. The veg thalis with rice cost 180. Which might be a little expensive for students as it does not come with refill options. If this is looked into. Then it'll be affordable for the students as well.
