I love this place for its ambience. The food is average at best with all vegetarian options. It also has MEDOVIK pastry which I had been searching for, since i had it for the first time in Kazakhstan. 9/10 recommend.
The Wonderful Life
Vanilla Grain – A Quiet Retreat in the Heart of Guwahati Rating: ★★★½ (3.5/5) 📍 Rajgarh Road, Guwahati Tucked away on Rajgarh Road, Vanilla Grain is a vegetarian café that offers a quiet escape from the city's pace. With its minimalist decor and cozy ambiance, it’s the kind of place where you could easily spend an unhurried afternoon — book in hand, coffee in reach, and time on your side. The café leans into a plant-based, comfort-food ethos, with a menu that features familiar staples like café mochas, baked goods, and an assortment of vegetarian-friendly snacks and pastries. On this visit, I sampled their Café Mocha, alongside a selection of pastries. While everything was pleasant enough, nothing truly stood out. The mocha was balanced and comforting, though it lacked the depth or signature twist that sets a great café apart. The pastries, similarly, were decent but didn’t leave a lasting impression — satisfying for a casual bite, but not quite memorable. That said, Vanilla Grain succeeds in providing a warm, peaceful setting that’s ideal for reading, catching up with a friend, or just unwinding. The space is quiet and thoughtfully designed — perfect for solo café-goers or those seeking a less crowded coffee spot. Where the café does need improvement is service. While not rude or unhelpful, the staff could benefit from more training in professional hospitality. A sharper, more attentive approach would elevate the entire experience. Pricing sits in the mid-range — fair for the setting and quality, though the food would need to deliver more personality or creativity to feel truly worth the spend. 🔎 Verdict: Vanilla Grain is a lovely place to be, even if the food doesn’t quite rise to the same level. With more polish in service and a few bold moves in the kitchen, it has the potential to become a standout vegetarian café in Guwahati. For now, it’s a solid, serene spot to relax — and sometimes, that’s enough.

This is a really nice vegetarian cafe. I haven't tried their desserts and pastries yet but I did try some of their other dishes, namely the Classic Tomato Basil Soup, Pita Pockets and Mexican Outlaw Platter. Overall, the food is decent. So far, my favorite has been their Mexican Outlaw Platter which had Mexican rice with some kind of gravy/sauce and grilled paneer cubes. The rice was very flavorful and the paneer was honestly too good. The gravy really paired well with everything. The other items were also decent. Service was good and the overall ambience of the place is quite nice. Would definitely like to try out their desserts in the future.

A sweet , cozy and Instagram worthy cafe . I have seen the cafe from outside many times but only recently got chance to visit it. First of the food , we order kitkat shake , cold coffee , masala tea , korean cheese bun , blueberry cheesecake and pizza. I have to admit their bakery items are a gem , price is a bit on the higher side but the taste and quality makes it worth it . ( i am attaching the menu so that u can have a look at it ) The service of the staff was also good . There are very helpful and polite The ambiance is sweet and cozy . There is ample space and different seating areas as well as the place is not crowded . One can definitely spend some quality time . Do surely visit the cafe , if u r also a cheesecake lover 😆

Vanilla Grain is a super experience in the city, offering european, chinese and continental vegetarian food, also great coffee. Their breads are delicious and closest to authentic as can be. Service is good. Place is very clean, including washroom.. sth hard to come by.

Visited Vanilla Grain Outlet and had a lovely time! Tried their Black Forest cake, which was soft and tasty, along with some potato wedges and coffee—everything was pretty good. The place is quite spacious, making it perfect to chill with friends. It’s a great pure veg spot with a wide range of savory bakery items, pastries, cookies, chocolates, and more. Definitely a good pick for veg lovers and dessert fans!

The cafe was decent overall. The pasta was much spicier than requested, but the cold coffee was excellent. The ambiance was warm and beautifully designed, making the experience enjoyable. I would consider visiting again.

Me as a cafe hopper always find these places and enjoy the vibe. The place was well lit and decorated, beautiful interiors, perfect for Instagram enthusiasts. Has a wide variety of bakery products as well which tastes great. Little overpriced for the items served with the service which needs to improve. Overall a nice place for some coffee and pastry.
