I had one of the worst experiences ever at this bakery, and the staff’s behaviour was downright shameful and shockingly unprofessional. Their attitude was so careless that it genuinely made me question how a place claiming to be a “reputed bakery” can hire people who don’t even know the basics of customer service. When I asked about the flavours available for a bento cake, the staff couldn’t even be bothered to answer a simple query. Instead, they stood there giggling among themselves and attending to other customers as if I was invisible. Only after I spoke up and demanded attention did someone reluctantly step forward and even then, the disrespect continued. I specifically asked for vanilla or butterscotch, and since butterscotch wasn’t available, they offered vanilla. Fine. I clearly wrote down the name “DHARITRI” and even showed it to the staff member. Despite that, she didn’t listen, didn’t confirm the spelling, and wrote “Dhatri” on the cake. When I pointed out the mistake, the staff simply laughed at each other and ignored me, as if my concern was some kind of joke. This isn’t unprofessionalism, this is utter incompetence and zero respect for customers. Then came the contradiction: First they said it was a vanilla cake with white chocolate frosting. Suddenly, after the mistake, they claimed it was actually chocolate and insisted that the only replacement available with the same design was also chocolate. So which one was it? If they don’t know what they are selling, how is a customer supposed to trust them? As a certified baker myself, I can confidently say: this kind of behaviour would never be tolerated in any bakery that values its name. We treat customers with respect, clarity, and professionalism. Clearly, this bakery’s staff has no training, no manners, and no accountability. I don’t live in Guwahati, I came here for my sister's Birthday, and honestly if I had the tools and ingredients with me I would have baked the cake myself and spared myself from this pathetic experience. I used to be a huge fan of Repose Bakery, but after witnessing the staff’s arrogance, ignorance, and complete lack of professionalism, I don’t think I will ever step into that store again. I can't say about the food as I didn't even get the chance to try it because of their irresponsible and ill mannered customer service. The staffs there have no manners, actually they haven't been thought how to behave with their customers. Though rush was there still there were 4-5 staffs present (1 Male + 3/4 Females) who could easily manage and listen to their customers demand, unless they don't know how to. They were specifically listening to only those customers who were ordering more number of items rather than one asking for one-two pieces either as packaging or dining. I am only giving this rating just because of the staff behaviour with their customers.

Tried the cream roll and cream bun here and it was too good. Even the smoked chicken sandwich was yumm

Service and atmosphere are good but food products are quite average

Repose is the work of Sunandaram Deka of Mangaldai. He opened a small hotel in Mangaldai in 1931. Today, from that small hotel famous businesses like Repose originated. There are many outlets, both large and small, available throughout Assam. This outlet is very good in Ganeshguri. The food here tastes very good. There are various types of cakes, chops, juices and packaged foods.

Located at Ganeshguri Chariali. Increased price after the renovation. No tea coffee options available now.

Its one of the Guwahati legacy that has been carrying forward year on year with its outlets covering entire Guwahati and offering the unbeatable taste and bakeries.

The red velvet pastry (70INR) was really good and also the donut(30INR) too. Friendly staff. The ambience is ok.
