It took me 9months to get over the trauma to leave a review here. It is lengthy so those pregnant parents looking for genuine feedback may go through it. The hospital experience for being a first time mom is just traumatic for me which have scarred me for life. On my last scan i found out the baby has passed meconium which calls for emergency CS. So, on basis of my doctor's advice i got admitted at around 11am. He was on leave so he came around 2pm. Then he asked why i have not done the routine blood test and other test that are mandatory before CS. But irony is that he never asked me to do those test before. So after all test, a emergency surgery was postponed by another 3hours. I was taken for surgery at 5pm and delivered baby at 6pm. After delivery i was not even allowed to hold my baby once and he was taken to NICU. Even a ordinary person knows how the first few hours are so important for the baby to bond with the mother and to breastfeed the baby but that was not the case here as our expert pediatrician felt formula will be much better. Next day only for two times the baby was brought to me and given breastfeeding. For 5 days my baby was kept in NICU for observation and treatment which could also be given in my private deluxe cabin where i was admitted but then they would not be able to loot money in name of expert team visits which i had never seen when i went for breastfeeding baby 4-6times. Also one of the unmarried bengali nurse at the NICU commented i had no milk on my 3rd day. Being placed in a place like NICU she should know that the first milk produced after birth is colostrum, a thick, yellowish "pre-milk" packed with antibodies, protein, and nutrients that lasts for about 3–4 days. It acts as a "natural vaccine" for newborns, boosting immunity, even few drops are enough but she laughed and joked at me for having no milk when actually i was producing fine. No parents want to see their baby in NICU but here it is mandatory for all babies irrespective of their birth weight or any condition to be admitted to the NICU. The best for the baby is with the mother unless there is serious complications but taking a healthy baby in name of observation away from mother right after birth is inhuman and horrible thing to do. So unless you want a traumatic birth experience avoid giving birth here.
