One of Guwahati's finest asian restaurants. The food never disappoints but it was a little short-staffed, still the staff was quite friendly. We ordered Pho which was very comforting and quantity was also generous. Would recommend and order again. We also had sautéed meat(pork) with shiitake mushrooms in soy sauce and oyster sauce, which is a forever favourite, served with a complimentary side of rice. Spring rolls were crunchy on the outside, hearty filling on the inside. But the singaporean noodles were not quite upto the mark and very bland-the only average dish of the night.

If one wants to have a good Asian experience this is one of the places I would recommend. I have visited this place a few times now and have never been disappointed with the food. Apart from that the interior and ambience with the music has a very calming effect which lets one enjoy the meal more.

I read quite a good review beforehand and since I am currently in a phase of pan-Asian food love journey so I am always in a lookout for places serving such food. Chang mai was in my list since a long time and this time I made up my mind to visit expecting good food. I ordered 2 dishes. The Uramaki sushi was 5/5 and was just perfect. 8 pieces of prawn inside-out sushi with strong flavours of mustard oil that completed the dish. And loved the salty and umami soya dip. The Larb Kaj was 4/5 only because of quantity. Quantity could have been more for sure. Taste was very subtle and fresh, perfect for summers. Powerhouse of protein since I chose chicken. The basil was just the Midas touch to the summer salad.

They have a good ambience and the staff is great. Food is above average. Some of the dishes might not be as great but they try their best to keep it authentic so that's nice. I would recommend having their tom yum soup. Their rice paper rolls are also pretty authentic, so is there Thai green papaya salad. I would recommend this place to someone wanting to try Thai food in Guwahati.

I’ve had Asian food in Ghy but Changmai tops all of them. I’ve tried their kimbap, bibimbap, dumplings and few more and all of them are classic! Must must try!

Visited this place recently, a complete pan asian restaurant Ordered: Kimbap (Chicken) ; Fried Rice Platter (Nasi Gorrang) served with skewered and grilled meat (Satay), sunny side up egg and shrimp flavoured chips : Steam Opened Dumplings (Khanom Jeeb) Taste: The kimbap was the best for me (the filling inside of chicken, egg, mushroom, veggies) was just on point and so was the sides ; 2nd the dumplings (the appropriate amount of filling inside and so savory) ; The fried rice platter (loved the skewers, egg and chips even the rice was great, but found a strong dried fish smell in it even in the sauce being served along with it, so that was bit of an issue for me, but it tasted good if you leave aside the smell) Ambience: Just as it should be, very calm and the vibe of it, really liked it Staffs: Very well mannered Price: On the higher side (but compared to other pan asian restro, it is less) Overall, I had a very good time with delish dishes, that I got to try for the first time (kimbap). Please visit this place if you are interested in this cuisine and have your own share of experience.

Entering this restaurant was an experience in itself and I was immediately blown away by the spectacular interiors! Such a beautiful place. Everything, from the wall paintings, to the vases and statues, was just perfect. An ambience truly befitting for an asian restaurant. Food was also pretty delicious. We had uramaki sushi, chicken rendang curry, pork satay and chicken pad thai noodles. The sushi was my favorite, while the other items were good too. The rendang curry tasted like something I had never experienced before! Service was good. The staff were quite polite and courteous. There is a smoking area outside. Overall, I had an awesome experience.

After having tried out almost all the major pan-asian restaurants in Guwahati, I have to say that Changmai scores above others in most categories. I've been here twice and each time the quality of the food and wide available menu has not disappointed. The interiors are wonderfully done with beautiful paintings and curios from South East Asia. The location provides a calm setting to cut out the noise and chaos of the city and you almost feel like you have been transported to a different dimension. Add to the fact that the restaurant is usually quite sparsely populated making it even more quieter! The staff are very polite, welcoming and professional. I would recommend trying out their south east Asian food (and there's a big selection). I was absolutely blown away by the unique Chao tom which is a must try (although the restaurant seems to be slowly reducing its size). The Gado gado was also very good. The prices are on the higher side, so this isn't a place you can frequent regularly, but on special occasions with friends, this is a great place. PS: It opens only after 1 pm for lunch, so please plan accordingly.
