Chinese Hut

The best momo I've ever had! The soup is so comfortable and delicious... The fillings are tasty.. The atmosphere is quiet and cozy. I recommend everyone to try out this restaurant at least once in their lifetime. Premium quality momo. The owner was very friendly and the service was fast.

I used to go to Chinese Hut as a college kid more than two and half decades back. And I went recently, in December, 2025. Ordered a plate of pork steamed momos that came with their complimentary momo soup. Their trademark black and red chequered table cloth is a thing of the past. There is now, only one dwarf waiter (long back, there were quite a few of them). But I was delighted to unravel that the quality of momos is still top notch. Much better than most of the new Instagrammed and Instagrammable momo joints that have mushroomed in Guwahati. Had a short chat with Jintu Daa (Mr Amulya), the person who runs the show. In fact, he himself had come up to me thinking I am a new customer and asked me how the food is. I told him of how I used to frequent that place 25-26 years back. And about this story of when I had heard him tell a friend that he never leaves the restaurant, and is always busy in the kitchen because he has maintain the quality the restaurant stood for. I was delighted to see him stick to that statement of his from ages back. Maybe that's why, this place still maintains its standards. It's surely going to be in my must-visit list the next time too, when I am in Guwahati. And the times after that.

Food is good. But some items doesn't justify the price. For example, the coffee.... regular small cup of coffee... 30-40 'may' be ok but it was ₹74... too much. I ordered chowmin, menu price was ₹200. Owner said ₹230 but billed ₹240. I just paid n walled away didn't say a word. Food and service is good but these kind of overprice and billing confusions should be taken care of.

One of the iconic restaurants of Guwahati.the place was well known for their momo’s, chopsuey and so on. Had visited a lot of times earlier. Made a recent visit after 2 years The prices are increased a bit. The momo taste is almost the same. Had fried rice and chilly chicken. Liked the taste. Parking for 4 wheelers might be an issue.

Its one of the oldest chinese restaurents in Guwahati... I simply love the gravy noodles thats served here, thick gravy with lots of green vegetables!! Used to visit with friends earlies in my 20s, today visited with my daughter. She too like the food... A restaurent- not so costly with quality food.

Chinese Hut is obviously best for their Chinese food specially momos and tandoor items in Guwahati. The quality of their momos is the same since the last 20years. They have a cult following of this item in the city. They are moderately priced and service is quick and good. Highly recommended.

A tiny air-conditioned restaurant serving Chinese and Indian cuisines. The ambiance of the restaurant is moderate. Located just opposite to the Nehru Stadium entrance. Why should you visit 'Chinese Hut'? The food they're serving is quite normalise in taste but post COVID-19 they have drastically increased their prices on the menu. You can only visit this single restaurant in the area serving Chinese cuisine. What are they serving? Their menu is basically serving Chinese cuisines both in chicken & pork variant. Extending their menu you will also find Indian cuisines like chicken butter masala, chicken tandoori, and much more. They also do serve ice-cream and Mausambi juice. P.S.: The taste of the food is normalise. However, the cost at which they are serving the food is not fascinating considering the restaurant ambiance.
