It is the famous shops in Guwahati to buy Assam silk,Mekhla,Gamosa and other traditional garments. Very nice quality with a very affordable and reasonable prices. Staffs are also very good. Best place to visit to buy traditional sarees with original quality. It is a 10 min away from Guwahati Station.

Visited on 14th march 2020. 1st : shop condition is like of 80s. No upgrade in shop, dull environment. No lights. Coacroach was running here and there. 2nd : In a silk store they have started selling biscuits, chips, all grocery items. 3rd : Hardly 2 staffs and they won't show you variety. If they open a saree to show you their priority will be to pack it and keep in the show case before they show you next one. So you need to wait for it. 4th : No willingness to sell anything for the salesman as they get salary and not commissions. GONE ARE THOSE DAYS OF KALPATARU WHEN IT WAS ONE BRAND TO TRUST FOR ASSAMESE PEOPLE. My mother felt annoyed by seeing their condition as it was a top shop in 90s.

Nothing good was there in the shop. The salespeople were also quite inattentive. We had go here and there to ask about the products and all they were doing was gossiping with each other. Better avoid this place.

It's a nice shop and they sell diverse products but from the outside, it's doesn't look that way. They need to remodel their display atleast.
