So many areas of Guwahati have reported dearth of water. When jica project is going to implement that became big question now . I’m a resident of Chandangiri , h/ n 19 . Borbari , vip road have been facing huge problem as that concern authority had make a big hole in front my gate and left uncovered With no slate over it for more than 2 months . For that I cant open my building gate . The process is running very slow . Expecting quick action from the authorities.

The utter callousness with which this organization is conducting it's work, makes us doubtful about its ability to deliver the goods. Roads are dug up without warning, and with no coordination with other government agencies. Instead of concentrating in one area with adequate labour force, the work is being done all over the city in a scattered, ad hoc manner.

It is a good opportunity to get fresh water for the residents, but at the same time to work seems a poorely executed as the junction boxes are only if brick instead of cement concrete making it possible for easty wear and tear, the road is fug for each household and sealed with ground stone with no cementing material and therefore susceptible to erosion, the ground workers are not provided with proper equipment to keep them safe while executing their works and there is none to supervise them. Plus, once the project is completed , there is no clarity as to who shall take responsibility of maintenance and if any amount is earmarked by the government. Discontinuing the GMC water after that shall jit the poor residents hard who cannot afford jika water and there is no measure in place for public washrooms for free. Some clarity is needed on maintenance and the welfare of the workers executing the project.
