I have been a regular customer of the shop following my mother, for last 20 years. It is the centre of all authentic Assamese silk collection from Sualkuchi(The manchester of the East) The people in the shop are extremely amiable and welcoming just like Sualkuchi. The price is reasonable co.pared to the new boutiques and online sellers nowadays and is the centre where they actually purchase and resell from. They can customise the designs, colours as per the customer's choice. I have suggested many of my non Assamese friends and colleagues the shop and also suggest it to all others...

I had purchased a Mekhela Chador for my wedding thinking it to be original Assam Silk, but it was duplicate. It attracted me because of its unique design but the fabric was of inferior quality. I paid 14 k for the Mekhela Chador which had no authenticity as they did not provide us the authentication lab test report which is mandatory in recent time. I'll not recommend Mohini Silk House to anyone who would like to purchase Original Assam Silk.

This is the best place to buy genuine assam silk (paat and muga) mekhela sador and saree. Owned by an Assamese family the silk store is contributing hugely in Maintaining the quality of the silk and the tradition of weaving in the handlooms by local Assamese weavers who have Successfully preserved and are promoting traditional Assamese designs and motifs on the mekhela sadors.
