Royal Naga Restaurant paltan

Had the naga pork thali at this small restaurant. It was one of the best authentic pork preparations that I had after a very long time. The meat was well cooked, just melted in my mouth. The spices were authentic. The service was extremely fast. Highly recommended

We had a really good experience eating here. We were actually going to a different restaurant, but it was closed, so we thought of trying this one. And I’m so glad we did. We tried: 1. Pork cooked in Sesame Seeds (unfortunately, I can’t recall the exact name on the menu) 2. Stir-Fried Mushrooms with Bok Choy 3. Plain Rice 4. Chicken Fried Rice The pork, cooked with roasted black sesame seeds, coriander, garlic, and Naga king chilies, struck a perfect balance of flavors. Despite the presence of king chili, the spice level was pleasantly tolerable — even for someone like me, who is not too fond of extreme heat. The pork pieces were generous and tender, and the dish paired wonderfully with the plain rice. But for me, the stir-fried mushroom with bok choy stole the show. The simple combination of button mushrooms and bok choy stir-fried in light soy sauce took me right back to the flavors of Southeast Asia. As someone who enjoys subtle, well-balanced dishes, this was nothing short of a foodgasm. Even the plain rice stood out — it wasn’t the typical kind we’re used to in West Bengal. It had a delicate aroma and a lovely texture that complemented the other dishes perfectly. While I didn’t try the Chicken Fried Rice myself, my brother, who did, found it a bit on the blander side but still enjoyable overall. This place really impressed me. Next time I’m in Guwahati, I’m definitely coming back.

The staff were friendly and nice, making sure we had everything we needed. However, the only downside was that it was quite hot inside the restaurant. Hopefully, they'll improve the ventilation soon. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Royal Naga for their tasty food and good service!"

It tastes good overall, but it doesn’t quite match the experience of a real Naga thali. There’s no thali option, rice and curry are separate, no side dishes are included, and the fermented axone is very hard

Satisfaction is a blessings that comes with a smile. Nothing matter much. Tq for giving me the great meal on this Independence Day. Great dish and great service with your whishes and a smile. Hope to share a moment again in future.

Decent place, very friendly staff. The food tasted a bit dissatisfying. Seemed more of a home cooked meal which made our long journey to find that place kinda not worth it. But if you are in the paltan bazar vicinity anf hungry, do check it out.

Food was amazingly delicious and especially if you wanna try out Naga cuisine this is the place, you will not be disappointed. Recommended.

Jst wow.. foods are excellent.. you can ajust the spicyness as per your choice.. all foods are tranditional which is great. Spices are controled. The behavior of stuff is great and responsive. Pork available.. and it is above my expectation. Overall great time. Place also aprox 300 m from Paltan Bazar bus stop. Restaurant is visible from road.
