I had a truly marvelous dining experience here with my family of seven. We explored almost every non-veg thali on the menu including pork, duck, chicken, and mutton, and each one was absolutely top-notch. The flavors were rich, authentic, and satisfying. If you are a pork lover, the Majuli Special Pork Thali is a must-try. It offers an amazing variety of pork dishes, around four to five different preparations such as pork fries, bamboo shoot pork, pork gravy, and more. Every single dish was delicious. The duck was equally impressive, tender and full of flavor. Overall, the food quality was outstanding. Another great thing is their generous service. They happily provide extra rice, dal, sabzi, and other sides whenever needed, which makes the experience even better. There is also parking space available, so visiting is convenient. The only downside is that the place feels quite congested. Seating space is limited and it can feel a bit cramped when crowded. Apart from this, everything else was excellent. One more small point is about the serving style. First, they serve the veg thali base, and then the non-veg items like pork, mutton, or other dishes are brought separately. During busy hours, this can take around 2 to 3 minutes, so we had to wait a little. It was not a major issue, but perhaps with a bit more staff, the service could become even smoother. A wonderful restaurant overall, and I would definitely visit again, especially if the space becomes a little less crowded. Also I'm attaching the menu

Had one fish thali, one paneer thali, one veg thali and fried chicken. Service was a bit disappointing...since we ourselves had to ask for papad, kheer, seeing at other's table. It's biggest competation is with Mising Kitchen, so need to improve a lot... Even the taste of the items are not that much taste as it should have been... I am sorry but it's my honest review as we went there on a special occasion of ours but was disappointed.

My partner and I visited ‘The Taste of Majuli’ on September 15, 2025 (Monday). Actually, we were invited to this seemingly new yet fancy restaurant by a friend and his family. While my partner chose the Broiler Chicken Thali, I opted for the Majuli Special Fish Thali. The taste for both the thalis was decent. However, the service was extremely quick and courteous. We would probably be visiting it again.

I tried their special chicken thali, and it was exceptional — fresh, authentic, and beautifully balanced. From the smoky tenga to the flavour-packed fish preparations and the simple yet comforting rice and greens, everything tasted like a homely meal made with love. The portion sizes are generous, and the pricing is very fair for the quality you get.

We stay barely 400m from this restaurant and during our evening walk on the day of Navami, we decided to visit this place. We packed a plate of smoked pork from their Puja Special Menu. When asked about the quantity, we were informed that it comes in a 500ml container. We paid 429/- for a bowl of smoked pork inclusive of GST (and Rs. 10/- container charge). When we came home and opened the container, it barely had half a bowl of pork. Can't believe we paid so much for such less quantity and that too very mediocre in taste. We probably ordered the worst item on the menu. Another possibility - They increased prices of everything since it was puja and reduced all quantities. We were very very disappointed and decided not to visit again.

It's not like you can differentiate much when it comes to the taste of thali, almost every restaurant tastes same but this place gives you two pork items when you order for pork thali. Same goes with chicken as well. Ambience is nice, you can come here with your family.

Rating: 4.5⭐ I recently visited The Taste of Majuli and was thoroughly impressed by the food quality. As a huge fan of pork thalis—with Mising Kitchen being my long-time favorite—I have high standards, and this place truly delivered. Signature Dish: The Pork Special Thali is a must-try. The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly balanced. Value for Money: At Rs. 450, the thali felt well worth the price given the quality and portion size. The Verdict: The taste is absolutely on par with the best ethnic restaurants in Guwahati. If you're looking for an authentic soul-food experience, this is definitely the spot. Highly recommended for anyone craving a genuine taste of Majuli's heritage!
