Guwahati Academy of Tertiary Education (GATE)

The test center for the NH TET exam, catering to students from the Northeast, is located on the 4th floor of the building. It is approximately 3.6 km from Guwahati railway station and 25 km from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi Airport. The location is accessible via buses, tourist taxis and metered yellow-top autorickshaws. Upon arrival, students are required to deposit their belongings on the ground floor, where benches are provided for waiting. However, the area is noisy and chaotic. Unfortunately, the adjacent building's community hall frequently hosts marriage and birthday parties, making it difficult for examinees to concentrate during the exam. While the staff were polite and supportive, and the air conditioning functioned well, several issues marred the experience. The armless plastic chairs were uncomfortable, the exam hall was cramped, and lighting was inadequate. Many computers were outdated, and the entire area was unhygienic, with dirt and dust everywhere. The washrooms were poorly maintained, and parking facilities were unavailable, forcing visitors to park on the street. Though lift was available, the center did not appear wheelchair-friendly. Additionally, examinees are advised to bring their own food, as no quality restaurants are nearby. The authorities must address these shortcomings to ensure a smoother and conducive environment for future examinations. The name board of the institute has faded with time and needs to be replaced by a new one at the earliest.

Really bad management to he honest. The staff is not well organised. There was a 30 min delay in the last test I appeared, in this centre due to no internet connection. Most of the monitors and keyboards are damaged and are not working. I really wouldn't suggest anyone to book these centre for examination purpose.

Such a horrible place it is. Neither there are proper fans, nor proper washroom. The system doesn't works properly, neither there are proper mouse. Even the seats given to sit aren't proper. Dirt everywhere. Conjested place. During summer it is more suffocating to appear for exams. Kindly improve the infrastructure of the place.

Literally one of the worst centre to conduct exams. Don't really want to talk about the infrastructure,..but at least have some sense that your institute is organizing an exam which may not be of any matter to you but for us it means a lot.. At least check the computers and specially the mouse. Overall a horrible experience and I hope no other candidates face such problems

Worst examination centre ever. The kind of mental trauma I have gone through is unexplainable. At first they forcefully asked me to get a locker to keep my car keys. Followed by no invigilator at the verification and registration counter. I had to walk upstairs to call to the invigilator for my registration. Third, the computers were pathetic. To top it off, the toilets were even worse than everything. At the end of the exam, the receptionist hugged me forcefully and tried to console me if my examination was not okay and that I could always come back to their institute to give exams next time. I hope no one goes through such events and causes trauma just before an important examination. One star is also too much for them.

The worst exam centre I have ever seen in Guwahati. I had appeared two exams in this centre but each time current was gone and it'll take near about 15 to 20 mins to start the exam again. Not only me my friends who had appeared other exam in that centre they also faced the same problem. Moreover no proper 🪑 is available here. I don't understand why SSC, BARC, UGC, CSIR conduct their exam in such centre! Every prestigious institution should avoid such centre like Gate Institute. Because during the exam time no aspirant want to face such disturbing situation, it breaks flow of the exam. ##Sorry to say that I couldn't upload any photos of the exam hall since mobile is not allowed from the gate. Worst examination centre ever . Today I had my NET exam there and the situation I faced can't explain. First the environment of the centre is not good. The furnitures are also not good . When I was ready to start my exam the keyboard was not supported and mouse was not clicked properly. My friends also told that they too faced the same problem. Fans conditions were poor , bathroom is not good. The centre is not good for examination.
