Umami - Vivanta Guwahati

The chilli prawn skewers were great. The prawns were perfectly cooked and seasoned and the chilli sauce accompanying it was wonderful. We also had the lamb ramen. The lab was beautifully cooked. Crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside. The ramen broth was delicious and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The sushi however was pretty disappointing. We had the Maguro Hosomaki. The sushi rolls were extremely tiny and the tuna wasn't fresh. The cocktails were fine but we were disappointed that there weren't any whiskey based cocktails available. The ambience and service was good.

This place is very underrated, it offers authentic Chinese and Japanese dishes. I absolutely loved the food. Each and every dish was top notch. The Peking duck is a must. The prices are reasonable compared to Five star standard. Even the staff is very polite and well trained. I'm already looking forward to my next visit here!

My entire dinner was nothing short of an experience here. The flavours are much softer and milder than you'd expect but are still impactful at the same time. Ridiculous when you think about it but that's what it felt like - I still remember my dinner very vividly. The Prawn Tempura was unlike any other I've had in this city; it was airy, fluffy and crunchy. Go figure! Also, I rave about their Wasabi Crème Brulee to this day. It was such an unexpected synergy of flavours that it left a lasting impression on my taste-buds. Quite an odd dessert to day-dream about. Loved the whole atmosphere and vibe of the place.

The food quality has drastically declined over the years. I recently had noodles and a chicken dish besides some starters there. Everything tasted like roadside van chinese. The only saving grace is the service staff at Umami, Vivanta Gauhati. We appreciate our server, Amrit, who is always polite and makes special effort to accommodate our requests.

Complements to the Chef for carefully choosing the menu and preparing the adaptations for Indian and oversea clients alike. SERVICE: Well groomed and helpful. Took good care of our large group with kids. A memorable experience.

recently visited this restaresta in vivanta by taj, Guwahati. Loved their susi. The staff was real nice and helpful and explained to me about different varieties of susi. They also helped my niece and nephew to use chopsticks . we also ordered some Haka noodles, fried rice and chicken and food came out to be very delicious. Iliked the staff..specially jayalitha.. its decor and ambiance and the food is really awesome.

I had gone for the thai sea food festival on 02/10/2024 and was pleasently surprised by the quality and quantity of the food available. The food was good, the service even better but being a taj property I expected better ambience but nevertheless the whole experience was money well spent

We ordered the Beckti Fingers, the pakodas, and a few cups of tea. The food was OK, but could have been better for the price point. The prices are anyway high, since the restaurant is inside a 4/5 star hotel, and that is understood. The staff is hospitable, the seating is good, the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, and the service was good. Overall it was an OK experience.
