I stopped by this stop while nearGanesguri. Hords of crowd always seen to be ordering stuffs. That made tempting for me try out few things. So I ordered a piece each of Kalagan, boil cake and julab jamun with a coffee costing around 60. Taste wise average, nothing extraordinary.

It is a very old sweet shop in Ganeshguri - Hengerabari tinali. They have a variety of sweet and namkins. It also have a quite variety of BAKERY STUFF. Since it is one of the oldest shop in the area it mainly remains crowded all the day long in comparison to other shops. Prices are reasonable and taste of items is up to the mark. The milk items such as curd & paneers are quite popular among the local folks from the time I know the shop for last 15 - 20 years.

So during 17 September 2024 , I visited prarthana sweets and I asked them to pack sweets and samosa in 15 seperate boxes but they charged me 10 rupees for a single box of packaging. Worst service and poor taste plus they're looters who even charges for the box

The sweet house looked very tempting from outside. But as soon as I had my first bite of dal kachori it spoiled my mood. The stuffing inside the kachori was tasteless and the outer crust was dull. The second thing that I tried since it is a sweet shop was a kesariya rasgulla which was as hard as an igneous rock. So the overall experience was poor.

Well, I don't know about other products of this bakery but the Rasgulla of this shop is the best Rasgulla I've ever test (excluding Kolkata's one) in just 15 rupees. I've tested sweets of many places/restaurants in Guwahati and also of other places of Assam and India. No Rasgulla could be better than the Kolkata's Rasgulla. If Kolkata's Rasgulla is 10 star then Prarthana's Rasgulla is 8 star. There's another one sweet which is "Malai Chomchom", it is also better than many other restaurants which costs only INR 20. And rest of the products of this shop is either normal or I haven't tried.

Has to be the cheapest in terms of both- the sweets and the staff behaviour. They gave us stale sweets and refused to exchange the same. Their behaviour was absolutely terrible, and the owner sat behind, smirking, not caring the least.
