The OG tea stall of guwahati city. They serve guwahatians since 1942 to till now with their different sweets and snacks. I love the chai-samosa combo most. Visited after years of gap and miss the old taste of it. ( Also missing their steel cups so added one old pic from my side)

Laxmi cabin is one of the oldest Tea&sweets cabin at Kamarpatty, Guwahati. The cabin is famous for samocha with chuney. All types of sweets, tea, sift drinks are available. The sweets are good quality at reasonable price. There is no sitting chair. The tea tables are of hight and has to take tea and snacks standing. The cabin is in rush all the time and some times have to wait.

Nice experience😊. Laxmi🏚️cabin was established by Late Bhupen Chandra Mahanta of my village Bardadhi Satra,Hajo in 1942🇮🇳during quit India movement. He was a social worker engaged in different activities and a freedom fighter who was arrested by British government. Whenever I visit fancy bazar grab the opportunity to to test delicious😋 samosas🍤 and garam chai☕ and also recall Mahanta's contribution in the upliftment of our locality. We take great pride of Laxmi🍰cabin.

If you are in Guwahati and you have not been to Laxmi Cabin, I would seriously question your taste for food or even your sanity. Established way back in 1942, this humble eatery is almost synonymous with Assamese sweet delicacies. As someone from Assam, I have been visiting this place since my childhood. This humble but crowded eatery reminds me of countless memories with my parents, who have passed away. Anyway, on September 15, 2025 (Monday), I took my partner to this place for the first time in her life. Given the fact that my partner is a sweet connoisseur, she was almost ecstatic with the collection of items on display. While we picked up several traditional delicacies to carry back home, my partner also relished a couple of items at the eatery itself – Rasmalai and Patishapta. As usual, both the items were brilliant. However, Laxmi Cabin is also known for its unique breed of Samosas (Singra in Assamese). It was a slice of nostalgia for me. We shall definitely come back to this place whenever we are in Guwahati again!

Price – A little higher than normal Quality – Average Quantity – Average The price of all sweets and snacks is slightly higher than other shops, but the quality is good.

Truly a great experience. Very generous people..First of all, a boy was walking around serving tea without being asked. When I asked for a sugar free, he rushed and got me one..second the samosa and kachori, I had, no body bothered to give a bill or even notice anything. One may just give the slip I think in the heavy crowd..however I was careful to pay..taste wise average, but fresh and it's oily and loaded with calories..ofcourse we go here to get a heart attack damn it..it's worth it..
