My partner and I had a rather average experience here today (Saturday - October 4, 2025). On our way to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, we decided to have our dinner here. The Google reviews seemed decent and hence we thought that it was safe to visit this eatery. However, the actual experience was underwhelming. While my partner opted for a Broiler Chicken Thali, I went for Fish Thali. The chicken and fish were good. Unfortunately, the other items on the Thalis were far from tasty. The ambience is also very ordinary. The service was somewhat satisfactory. Given a choice, we would not be too inclined to visit this place again!

The thali was average for the price, but the presentation was really good. Service was satisfactory and the taste was quite nice. The place is somewhat not easily noticeable, but overall it’s a good spot to try at least once.

Paneer Thali - Rs.280/- Local Fish Thali - Rs. 140/- Banbati, Dharapur, Guwahati Airport road Assamese, Indian & Chinese $$$ 22.06.25 Well my interesting situations with flights continues. We left Hyderabad at 4:30pm & were supposed to land at 7:30pm in Guwahati. And well our flight landed in Varanasi & so we finally landed in Guwahati at 10:15pm. Thankfully we didn't have much luggage so we were out of the airport by 10:30pm. Now everyone was hungry since no one had a proper lunch, & my lunch was also very early. Being a Sunday I already knew no shops would be open after crossing into Meghalaya. So I decided we check out @banbati_ig the same place I had intended to eat while on our way to Hyderabad but had to skip because we were late for the flight. Now Google Map indicated that they open only upto 10:30pm but I thought I should just try my luck. It was 10:50pm & we were 8 of us, so I ran up the stairs & enquired & they replied that their last order was at 11pm. I was thankful. This was the last decent looking option especially since we were travelling with children. We all climbed up. I didn't want to eat any more meat for today so I asked for a Paneer Thali & then since I'm in Guwahati, I thought I would be missing out if I don't eat fish. So I ordered the only thing available at that late hour, the Local Fish Curry. Anyway here is my review of Banbati- Ambience- 4.2 The place is on the 1st floor & is rather very simple. Just good enough to have a family meal. Service- 4.7 I have to give it to them for not leaving us stranded, tired & on empty stomachs at almost 11pm. The food did take 20mins to arrive but atleast you can assume it's not been sitting for hours. Quantity - 5.0 One look at the veg thali & it's automatically a 5 out of 5 for me. The extra side items are rarely served even in more expensive thalis. Quality - 4.6 The quality was very good. I'm not saying this just because there were so many different side items but because the rice quality was very good, so were both the dals. Taste - Veg Thali - 4.7 The veg thali was excellent. 150 bucks gets you rice, yellow dal, black dal, aloo parwal (patol) sabji, steamed parwal, sauted green beans, sauted wild ferns (tyrkhang), aloo pitika, banana stem (pashor kait), colocasia (wang), carrot & beetroot salad, papad like crisps, sweet curd & a slice of lemon. After all that masala that I had in Hyderabad this was a good way to start detoxing. The sweet curd also helped. And by the way it not only looked good, but was tasty as well. Only thing I missed was the pani tenga. Paneer curry -4.0 I made a bad mistake in ordering this item as it was more like a mismatch. The texture & flavors did not wow me over. The fish was more than sufficient. Local Fish Curry - 4.4 The local fish curry turned out to be a Katla Tenga curry. The piece of fish was decent & it had flavors but somehow I still prefer the Fish Tenga that I ate a few days earlier at the airport. Price - 4.8 150 rupees for such an elaborate Veg Thali was not only surprising but delightful & a relief after all that meat that had gone down the barrel. Even the paneer & fish was decently priced. I'm sure at 280 bucks for the fish Thali with all those veggies, it would have been difficult to beat that price. Overall-4.55/5.0 Overall it was a big relief to find food & that too tasty hot fresh food at that hour of the day. I was a little worried since my parents didn't have lunch, just some cashews & tea on the flight. If you are travelling to Guwahati airport & you want to eat relaxing just after passing all the traffic on the way, then this is definitely is a good choice. It's located at that junction between the Main road & the road that goes to Miles Bronson School & eventually to the airport. Instagram ID - kari.on.eats

It is a good place with good food. The ronak Assamese thali with non veg options such as duck meat, chicken and fish Make this place full of options. Further they serve in bronze plates that helps in having a great experience.
