Unforgettable Assamese Thali Experience at Guwahati Akhol🍱 As a passionate traveler, I love exploring the local cuisine wherever I go. On my third visit to Assam, I had the opportunity to try the Assamese thali at Guwahati Akhol, and I must say, it was hands down the best Assamese thali I’ve ever had! Over the years, I’ve had my fair share of Assamese thalis during my visits to Assam, but none have left me as satisfied as the one at Akhol. The flavors, the quality, and the authenticity of the food here were simply outstanding. This time, I truly understood why Assamese cuisine is so highly praised. The location of Akhol is perfect – situated in a peaceful area of Guwahati, it’s easy to find and has a cozy ambiance. What really stood out to me was the staff. From the receptionist to the people serving food, everyone was so humble and welcoming. They made me feel right at home, and their behavior was top-notch, ensuring I had a comfortable dining experience. The hospitality here was truly exceptional. I opted for the veg thali, as I wanted to try the local flavors, and I was not disappointed. The thali was an absolute delight! It consisted of a variety of dishes that showcased the richness of Assamese cuisine. The taste was fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced – from the rice and dal to the various vegetables, chutneys, and fried items. Every dish was flavorful, and the portions were generous. I could tell that the ingredients were fresh and the preparation was done with care and attention to detail. To complement the veg thali, I asked the receptionist (who I believe might have been the owner) for a non-veg recommendation, and he suggested I try the Mustard Leaves Chicken Curry (Lai Chicken). This turned out to be an excellent choice! The chicken was tender, and the mustard leaves gave the curry a unique, flavorful twist that I had never tasted before. It was a perfect combination with the thali, and I truly loved every bite. The curry was packed with rich flavors, and the mustard leaves added a distinctive, earthy taste that elevated the whole meal. The experience at Akhol was beyond amazing – I left the place completely satisfied, not just with the food but with the entire dining experience. If you're in Guwahati and want to experience the authentic Assamese thali, I highly recommend Akhol. It’s a hidden gem for food lovers, and I will definitely return the next time I visit Assam. Whether you’re a fan of vegetarian or non-vegetarian food, Akhol serves both with equal perfection. I can confidently say this was one of the best meals I’ve had in my travels, and I can’t wait to go back. Highly recommended!✨

Food is Good. A must try place for having lunch with family or friends. Ambience and other facilities are ok and needs to be adjusted with.

I had lunch multiple times. Every time the simplicity of the preparation has given me the perfect assamese lunch thali vibe. Tastes are very good and reminds home coocked food. Both veg and non veg dishes are well crafted. May be a little reorganization of the table layout will ease the congestion during the peak lunch hour rush.

Not satisfied at all. Prices here are pocket friendly but the taste is not good at all. Ordered chicken hyderabadi which tasted exactly like the green chutney with very small peices. Chicken makkhan was okayish. The romali roll tasted good. And the food served was not a bit hot at all except the romali roti. I will not recommend it at all for the main dishes.
