Our first experience in a buffet restaurant!! So glad it was Uruka. The staff was very professional and even helped my non-assamese friends with naming of the dishes and explaining the ingredients used. Had a blast. Definitely worth trying if you visit Guwahati Club Area.

I’m from Maharashtra and visited Restaurant during my trip to Guwahati. I tried the Thali — it wasn’t spicy at all, but the taste was really good and flavorful. The service was excellent, and the staff was polite and attentive. Overall, a great experience! I would definitely recommend this place.

Horrible, stale, train-like food. This restaurant uses the name “Uruka”—a symbol of Assamese Bhogali Bihu—but the food is nowhere close to Assamese cuisine. Honestly, it’s worse than street-vendor food. They run a so-called buffet but monitor portions like it’s rationing time. The fish was yuck, and every single item was painfully low on salt. Go there if you want the full experience of being cheated 😂

Assamese Food is simply the best when it comes to both taste and quality. It is light, it is healthy, and most importantly, it has a fantastic after-effect. After reaching Guwahati this time, we were in the lookout for a new place to enjoy Assamese cuisine. Uruka came up very strongly during our research. Multiple travel vloggers have repeatedly recommended this place. Therefore, we went to this place the day before yesterday (Tuesday - June 24, 2025). At Uruka, one should ideally opt for its signature Assamese Buffet Spread. My partner and I did exactly that. Priced at a modest Rs. 600/-, the buffet has quite a few traditional delicacies. While the starters were served at the table, the main course had clearly demarcated vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The taste was awesome and the hospitality was fabulous. The servers made us feel at home and described each and every item on offer. The restaurant interior is extremely well-designed and gives one a tour of the typical Assamese village. Let me just say that we had an awesome experience at the place. We shall definitely return here during our next visit to the city. Great work folks! Keep up the good work!

A truly delightful Assamese dining experience! The food feels just like home — fresh, authentic, and full of traditional flavors that are hard to find elsewhere. Every dish tasted lovingly homemade and perfectly balanced. The service was excellent: polite, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone who wants authentic Assamese food served with heart. 🌿🍽️

We had such a lovely experience here. The lady who hosted us was incredibly sweet, warm, and welcoming — it genuinely felt like eating at someone’s home. The food was fresh, homemade, and absolutely delicious. Everything was extremely hygienic, and she made sure our tummies were full and happy. The Assamese flavours were truly wonderful, and we loved how thoughtfully the meal was planned — even in the way the food helps with digestion. It made the whole experience feel wholesome and special. And honestly, anyone who comes to Assam has to visit this place — for the food, the authenticity, the love, and the beautiful vibe of the restaurant. We loved the food, loved the vibe, and loved the hotel. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Assamese hospitality and a heartfelt meal.

Excellent. Owner takes huge pride in sharing delicacies and history of her culinary journey. Each item personally curated like her masterpieces. This was our first experience of testing traditional Assamese cuisine and must admit that we look forward to many such opportunities in the coming days, thanks to Uruka for making our visit and eating experience so memorable for times to come.
