One of the Worst Pet Shops – Not Recommended I had a very disturbing experience with this pet shop and I strongly advise others to be careful before buying a puppy from them. I purchased a 51-day-old Golden Retriever puppy from this shop. Before taking her home, I took her to a well-known veterinary doctor at Zoo Road (Star Pets clinic), and I was told she appeared fit at that time and that I could take care of her. On Saturday around 8:30 PM, I gave her food but she refused to eat. I immediately contacted both the doctor and the pet shop owner (Dhruba). He casually told me to “wait for some time, she will be fine.” However, around 3:30 AM that night, she started vomiting continuously until morning. On Sunday morning, I rushed her back to the clinic. After examination and testing, she was diagnosed with Parvo — a serious and life-threatening viral infection in puppies. When I informed the pet shop, instead of taking responsibility, they denied everything. They said, “She was fine on Saturday, how can she get Parvo so fast?” Anyone with basic knowledge knows Parvo does not develop in a single day. It has an incubation period, meaning the puppy was already infected before being sold. Instead of supporting with treatment costs or taking responsibility, they said if the puppy dies, they may give a 30%–40% discount on another puppy. This is completely unacceptable and insensitive. A puppy is not a product that can simply be replaced with a discount. This kind of behavior is irresponsible and unethical. Selling a sick puppy and then refusing support is not tolerable. I request authorities and responsible bodies to look into this matter, and I urge potential buyers to be extremely cautious before purchasing from this shop.
