I'll give them a solid 2star. Firstly they'll act so humble . They'll show how good they are in there service and all (as the best hostel in Guwahati). I also thought that after joining the hostel. But after 1-2month I understood why most of the boarders complaining about the hostel. The water is almost red. And after weeks of complaining they clean the tank. But if you want to take shower at morning you'll get water full of some kind of red particles. The food is okay most of the time for me. But other boarders complaint a lot about it But the chappati is terrible is like its uncooked. You'll have to eat raw Atta. And I use to take tiffin to my work. But i got nymphs(babies of cockroaches) in the sabji. I was traumatized after that but when I informed it into the staff the security and chef started telling me why you have to inform that to the staff. I think its better to improve yourself rather than telling to shut to the boarders. The bathroom is very very dirty. Water clogging is a major problem. And the red particles from the water get accumulated in the bathroom for long and makes the bathroom more dirty. But when the boarders were asked to vacant the hostel and when its time for new admission of boarders they clean the bathroom. It became clean as new. Why didn't they do that before? Most of the boarders including me didn't get the key of our cubort. I asked it for several times but never got it. The generator was not working in between for more than 1month. After repeated request they repaired it. I dont wanna spend more time writing this. Hope new boarders get better service.

One of the worst hostels yet and would not recommend. Mainly the water is brown in colour and it’s contaminated with iron which will effect your hairfall by alot and also your skin. Raised many complains regarding the water quality but just "cleaning" of the water tank was done while the main problem was with the filter. The management are also are rude and arrogant. They'll be very quick to take late fees incase you fail to pay rent on time but once you leave, they'll take their sweet time to pay back your security money. It took mine 2 months and 4 days for them to pay back but in their policy they say "within 45 days". If you're a allen student and you are recommended here, i do recommend as it is far from allen and also you'll have to pay for additional transport fees to travel and also the food is bad as compared to other one's. The management is rude and arrogant too. 1/10

Worst experience, paid security deposit of Rs.11,500 in advance and received the security amount after 6 months after leaving on influence of my uncle who is a local. Poor and bad quality of food, water is also very unhygienic. The management here are a scam...

worst hostel, everything just show. they have the worst water quality and it's full of iron, even after complaining for months they don't take action about it. we had to go and check the water ourselves.the manager here is very rude and doesn't talk well with the people. the bathrooms end up clogging and also in some toilets the flush doesn't work. complained about all these but they never ended up taking any action. would not recommend this hostel to anyone. 0/10

Definitely not what it says it is. The water is basically mud water because you mostly get dirt from it. The food sucks and yeah there's more to it. There's no proper maintenence. Would definitely not recommend anyone to stay here especially if you're looking for a hygienic lifestyle

A very bad hostel with 1000s of lies in their ads . 1)The ac in the dining hall doesn't work 2)The water Quality is the worst i have ever seen in my entire life , full of iron . It feels like the tap is bleeding, it's that bad 3)The bathroom stinks all the time 4)The food portion is for a toddler 5)No Netflix, Amazon prime and any otti subscription. They just write in their ads but in real they don't have any such ott subscriptions.

If you want a good hostel in Guwahati, then never think about UPTOWN; the staff here will never respect you; the water here is full of iron; and the food is also completely useless. And one important thing is that there is a warden here (Vikas) his behavior is very bad.

The water quality is very very very poor , the daal is also looks like Pani (don't know if they mix before serving) , remaining all facilities are average, but water and food is the main source of life , they need to improve it .
