I had gone to Guwahati for work and fancy Bazaar was one of places of visit during my work. This is a huge market spread accross 4 lanes whose middle point has a confluence of religious hubs like gurudwara, masjid and mandir. Different kinds of shops are present here. The streets are full of cloth vendors selling clothes at a very nominal price. As I went during winters hence sweaters were available in a wide variety ranging from 80 to 500. I was amazed to see such a market area. Christmas shopping is done from here. Fresh fruits and different kinds of vegetables are also available here.

Nice place for students as you can get your every kind of books for studying. Clothing and food stalls are good too. You will find lots of bookstores so don't worry if you haven't found in one, there's more stores to explore. Also you can buy comics and regional magazines which are nowadays rare to find in markets. Also one of the most important thing is that you can resell your old books here. Yes, you can just take your books to those stores and get your price.
