We visited Amchong Tea Estate during our school excursion, and it was such a beautiful and memorable experience. The greenery, the calm environment, and the warm hospitality made the day so special. My first trip as a teacher, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to share such moments with my students. A truly refreshing experience! 🌿

We had a wonderful experience at Amchong Tea Estate. The tour was excellent, and visiting the tea factory and tasting the tea was a truly memorable experience. A special mention to Zameer, who was extremely patient and took the time to explain every step of the process clearly and in detail. His knowledge and calm approach really enhanced the tour and made it even more enjoyable. The tea estate itself is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and well maintained.

📍Location: Amchong is easily accessible from Guwahati. Two convenient routes are commonly recommended: 1. Via Sath Gaon – This route passes through an army camp and is suitable for a direct, serene drive. 2. Via Sonapur–Digaru – For those coming via Nagaon-Guwahati, turn right at Sonapur and follow the Digaru route to reach the estate. The journey takes just 30–35 minutes, making it a perfect short excursion or an easy day trip. Opt for March to November to experience the tea gardens at their most vibrant. Scenic escape near Guwahati — Just 30–35 minutes (around 20–25 km) from the city, Amchong Tea Estate spans between 1,500 to nearly 1,800 acres of rolling, emerald tea gardens. Heritage and production — Founded in 1958 and fully developed by the late 1970s, the estate now supports over 500 workers and produces in excess of 1 million kg of high-quality Assam tea annually. Rich, immersive experiences — Highlights include guided walks through the tea gardens, hands-on tea plucking, nursery tours, detailed factory visits, and curated tea tasting sessions. You can also experience rubber tapping and pepper cultivation for a rounded agro-tourism encounter. Touch of luxury and comfort — The estate doubles as Amchong Park & Resorts, offering charming cottages and rooms that overlook the tranquil gardens. Perfect for those seeking relaxation amidst nature. Peak visiting period — For the best experience, plan your visit between March and November. This period aligns with the lush green season and active tea plucking. October–November are also great months for drier weather and birdwatching. Thanks, Enjoy!🪅

Visited for a tour to the Tea Estate. While the experience was good, it is not value for money @1499 per person. They are now diversifying into tourism business, and I felt that we were part of an experiment. The factory wasn’t operational (due to reasons outside their control), but then, they should have considered that and reduced the price. Having said that, I believe in a few months, this has the potential to become a nice getaway tour for anybody in or visiting Guwahati. It’s a beautiful place. Good Luck to the Amchong Team.

Tea estate is very vast and expanded over a large area , but to visit and explore about tea making process need money from visitors as it is a Private firm . 😞

We had such a great time at Amchong Tea Estate! 🌿 It was a wonderful experience for my daughters to learn the whole journey of tea – right from the nursery to packaging – and of course, the tea tasting was the highlight. The food was amazing too! A big shoutout to Aman, our guide, who was absolutely awesome and made the tour so much fun. The hospitality was warm and welcoming, and it truly made our day. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

A serene atmosphere to drive and hangout. But make sure you return before it gets dark.
