Welcome to Assam Tea Traders which houses dozens of variety of tea shortlisted from 8000 varieties coming in daily in Guwahati. As you enter this small shop, you get a whiff of all the types of tea this place houses. The owner was a passionate tea lover and walked us through different tea varieties and how to best enjoy their aromatic flavors. We ended up buying Oolong, White, Orthodox, masala and gol dana tea varieties for ourselves and for gifting to friend and family. This family owned business has been running for 60 plus years, even the painting on the wall was done by the owner’s sister in law, which added to the aura of the place. The owner mentioned they deal mostly in bulk and is part of the tea trade union helping with the auctioneering of tea to big companies like Tata, Lipton, etc.
