Visited on this Maha Shivratri the Kotiling Shiv Temple in Kamakhya, Guwahati, which is a part of the Kamakhya Panchapitha, as described in the Yogini Tantra. It's a Cave Temple with a Shiva lingam, surrounded by images of Lord Ganesh. The temple's unique location on Nilachal Hill, overlooking the Brahmaputra River, creates a serene atmosphere perfect for spiritual reflection.

A local temple with approximately 600 steps to walk down to see lord shiva residing in a cave. Drop your footwear along with socks before entering into this temple. No crowd at all as it needs a bit of trekking. A blissfull nature view can bee seen from here Note: There is also a ganesh temple on the banks of brahmaputra river and you need to take 600 more steps to visit this temple.

This place is behind the Kamakhya temple. In this temple, you will find a temple of Lord Shiva. You will find a temple of Lord Ganesha and from here you will get a very good view of the Brahmaputra river.
