A beautifully developed and well-maintained riverfront terminal on the banks of the Brahmaputra. The waiting area, ticket counters, and boarding points are clean and well-organized, making ferry travel much smoother than before. The river view from the terminal is stunning, especially during sunset. Crowd management can improve during peak hours, but overall it’s a comfortable, safe, and scenic place to travel or spend some peaceful time. Highly recommended for both tourists and local commuters. I went to umananda temple from this terminal. It was very nice just 40rs per person to and fro both included. Very good initiative by government

The Gateway Terminal is a landmark project that positions Guwahati as a hub for inland water transport. It not only improves urban infrastructure but also creates new opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural revival along the Brahmaputra. ✨ Key Highlights • Location: Brahmaputra Riverfront, Guwahati, Assam • Purpose: Boost passenger and cargo transport via river routes Enhance tourism with scenic river travel and modern facilities • Reconnect Guwahati city with its historic river culture • Features: State-of-the-art jetty, terminal building, and promenade for visitors

Great infrastructure, but some areas could use improvement. The entrance has a ticketing counter and a well-maintained waiting area with ample seating, electronic information display boards, plus a lounge and cafeteria. However, on-premises parking is limited. Security guards could be more practical and professional. The modern washrooms aren't maintained to the best standard; automatic room fresheners would help with odors. The ticketing experience is slow; online ticket purchasing would be a great convenience!

Last ferry leaves at 15:30 hours. I missed it as I reached at 15:45.So I took a ferry from near the temple where touts were calling out for going to Umananda. The last ferry for them leaves on 16:10. I would advise, only take those if you need to go and have no other option cause the infrastructure n facilities are not like in the Guwahati Gateway terminal. I only wish the Gateway Terminal could have had a ferry after 15:30. Parking is an issue cause for some reason they do not let u park in the premises although parking area is there. Only option is to park on the opposite side of the road at the MLCP. They should have made car parking facility available at the terminal.
