It was very nice trip organised by Mr Krishanu and his Team THIS travel co. Itenary customised according to our needs and time. Hotels were good with good hospitality Driver was very friendly and followed company instructions and Vehicle arranged was in well condition The local people of ASSAM & MEGHALAYA were absolutely friendly and too polite for the tourists. I had a disappointing experience with this travel company. Our group consisted of 18 participants from a German university, with me being the only Indian and the one working in coordination with Krishanu Baruah. It was an overall unsatisfactory experience with TTC from the beginning for me, with TTC unable to send simple email attachments and providing a wrong bank account number to the University. We were overcharged for substandard services and accommodation, and faced recurring issues with organisation, safety, hygiene, payments to local organisations, and accountability throughout the trip. For a group of 18 people, clear communication and planning are essential. Unfortunately, we did not receive a complete itinerary before the trip despite repeated requests, and coordination during the journey was often unclear. This caused frustration within the group and made it difficult to manage expectations, especially when known issues such as pre-planned road closures (due to a highly publicised marathon) disrupted plans. Considering the relatively low local costs for accommodation, food, and transportation, the overall price we paid was high, and in retrospect, not fully reflected in the services provided. We also expected that partner NGOs contributing their time and expertise would be compensated appropriately, which was not the case, and something that was deeply concerning to us as a university group that values fair collaboration. In addition, although safety and hygiene had been emphasised during the planning stage, several of the accommodations provided did not meet basic standards. Several times when I raised our concerns, such as rooms with mold and cigarette butts and cigarette smell, significant delays (4+ hours) in meals, or cancellation of pre-planned activities, I felt that Krishanu responded dismissively and felt his certain remarks were both disrespectful and unprofessional from a travel agent hired to provide these services, more so given the generous budget allocated. A lot of things, such as the road blockage due to a marathon planned months prior, seemed to us as foreseeable and something a good travel agent should take into account. He also did not inform the local police station about a large foreign group visiting rural Assam, which we had requested him to do, and he agreed to do so (in writing). This later caused problems for the local organisation we visited, as the police visited them for information about the group. He made such decisions without informing us and misinformed us by taking the responsibility to inform the local police station. There were also serious lapses in ethical conduct, which I will not go into here now, as Krishanu threatened defamation, which is an attempt to intimidate and bully. I am writing about the things in this review that have tangible evidence. We did enjoy some aspects of the trip, particularly the airport welcome and the adventure activities, the latter was not directly organised by Krishanu but outsourced to another local group, and he is merely a middleman. Overall I cannot recommend TTC for large groups as the general experience was frustrating and distressing as the main organiser. I strongly advise future groups to clarify all arrangements in detail and proceed with caution, as that was indeed our fault, that we based this on an assumption of trust and good faith. Edit: This is my only update to clarify inaccuracies based on owner's reply. An institutional email from the research chair was sent which outlined much of the similar concerns I wrote here, and the owner’s reply, much like here, focused on personal remarks rather than the issues raised. The request to inform local police in advance about a large foreign group was not carried out, which he confirmed in contradictory statements.

Just completed a 9-Day tour of part of Western & Eastern Arunachal Pradesh. The stays were awesome. Mr. Baruah is a very helpful person and attended to our requirement during the tour, whenever needed. Except a small confusion with a permit, the tour was very organized.

It has been a great experience. We went to assam and we requested for a off beat trip and that is what we got.

The choice of hotels was excellent, providing comfortable stays and convenient locations. Driver Feedback: The driver was exceptional—very knowledgeable about the local area, accommodating to our requests, and ensured a smooth and enjoyable trip.

it was a very well planned trip by Krishanu, every accomodation was comfortable and cozy considering the extreme temperatures that we faced… we had two senior citizens travelling with us and they did not face a single problem due to the well planned nature of the trip… driver bhaiyya (Khargeshwar) was very cooperative and a happy go lucky guy with excellent driving skills…overall a fantastic experience made possible due to the highly personalised touch of This Travel Company… Thanks Krish!

We had been to Meghalaya trip with THIS TRAVEL COMPANY and it was amazing experience, itinerary was best planned, all hotels were good and most important our innova driver Mr Mrinal Ray was gem of person, very co-operative and soft spoken exactly what we were expecting.
