Bellevue Point

Always had been an escape place for me from the bustling city and traffic in Guwahati. This time, I went there after 4-5 years and things have changed a lot around that area. Firstly, the strech of road from the planetarium up to the Valley view point was always almost empty. There was a kind of peace and tranquility, with roads covered with bird poop and there was that birdish kind of smell in the air in that entire road which is now replaced by the extreme crowds, cars, vehichles in that complete stretch due to the opening of the Guwahati River View Park that has been constantly attracting tourists any time of the day. Tackling through the narrowed road due to vehicle parked when you reach the point, it's still peaceful but has lost it's charm due to a several reasons. Firstly, Brahmaputra over time has dried up, most of the trees in and around Valley view are not there, human settlements have replaced nature. On the other side of the river (North Guwahti) which was completely covered by trees is now mostly barren and replaced by human habitation. Secondly, due to the misuse of such a beautiful place by teenagers, and other young adults - drugs, alcohol and other inappropriate acts by couples, the place is sealed off by 4PM and no one is allowed to climb up to that spot strictly. Otherwise, a calm peaceful evening at that spot in the evening, either in winters or in summers, with a friend / family was so refreshing and rejuvenating. Authorities have taken the correct step by restricting acceess after 4PM but simultaneously, authorities maybe look for other better options which will allow decent people with pure intentions to have access to that spot.

Very serene and peaceful atmosphere though it is situated near the Raj bhawan. Best place to experience the actual beauty of the river and uzan bazar's environment. Most natural view you can get of the the Brahmaputra is from this place...it is open till 2pm in the afternoon currently. Furthermore, As responsible citizens, it is our duty to keep this serene area clean and avoid littering.

Excellent river front, ample walking space amid green plants and swings and othrler slides for kids, lot of selfie points, only drawback parking options are limited.

Fully natural place. Best for sunrise and sunset.

And only one big tree 🌳🌲🌴 symbol🔣 of this place... Overall very nice place to go. Come and enjoy the beautiful😍✨❤ moments.. Please keep the place Clean 🫧 🪥 like your home. It's our Assam.
