This is quite a well-known chain for regional cuisine, mainly focused on non-vegetarian dishes like pork and duck. I’ve tried their veg thali multiple times. It includes local delicacies such as bamboo shoot, banana fry, green leafy vegetables, small rice, and a tasty dal. The flavors are authentic, and you will definitely enjoy the taste. However, the staff is rude, and you shouldn’t expect fast service or courteous behavior. Also, if you are sensitive to the smell of non-vegetarian food, it’s better to avoid this place, as the smell can be quite strong throughout. It’s not a cheap place either—the food is somewhat expensive considering the quantity and the overall ambience.

Nice food, specially duck fry was too good...then yellow daal was top notch Local chicken curry was also ok ok type but could be better,duck curry was good .overall food was very fulfilling, veg soup was nice....lastly sweet khir was also very nice

Traditional restaurants in Guwahati have never disappointed me. However, this famed eatery near the Ganeshguri Flyover was not as great for me as Google Reviews would have me believe. During my recent personal trip to Guwahati, I visited this restaurant for the first time. I got down at the airport after a three-hour-long flight from Bengaluru to Guwahati and headed straight to this place on August 17, 2025 (Sunday). While the ambience seemed decent enough, the approach road was a bit of a dampener. Anyway, I ordered the ‘Delicacy Akhaj with Fish’ (Fish Thali). While the items felt just okay, the taste did not meet my expectations. The service was also not the best in the world. May be, it was not the best day for the restaurant. Would I visit this place again? Probably, as I would want to revisit it with my partner in the near future before providing a concluding remark about the place.

If you’re looking for an authentic Assamese thali experience in Ganeshguri, Gam’s Delicacy Restaurant is one of the best options around. As a regular customer, I always find myself coming back for the comforting flavors and homely vibe. On my recent visit, I ordered the Veg Thali along with Pork with Laai (dry fry) and Fish Fry. The thali was delicious as always, and I especially loved the pork with laai — rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fish fry was crispy and spot on too! The place is quite budget-friendly and offers a great variety of traditional Assamese dishes. However, I’ve noticed that lately, the taste of one or two items can feel a bit average at times — especially with salt being slightly low on some days. But I genuinely hope they bring back the consistently amazing flavors that made me fall in love with this place in the first place. Still, for anyone craving Assamese cuisine in the heart of the city, Gam’s Delicacy remains a solid and satisfying choice.

Good thali option with authentic dishes. Taste wise also good. Wouldn’t say it’s wow though. The thali has a lot of dishes in it and it’s very filling. Value for money definitely and good to take out of town people to.

Superb food! Brilliant in taste and appeal! I ordered a pork thali and was amazed with the number of items and quantity of food. Kindly see the photos! Service is brilliant and quick! They serve in brass utensils and the food is very authentic Assamese! Pitika, kalai dal, masoor dal, alu vegg curry, fried pork, pork in lye pata, pork with another gravy base, steamed pork in banana leaves, juha rice, bamboo shoot pickle, another pickle, brinjal fry etc etc! The bamboo shoot pickle is superb in taste and flavour! Adds a zing to the food. Enjoyed my lunch thoroughly! Simply superb! Worth the visit! Will visit again for sure! 👍
