Poitabhat restaurant is situated in zoo -tiniali area, bye lane before reaching Yamaha showroom. Small restaurant, serves traditional Assamese food. We tried pork thali, it comprised of rice and various other side items with 2 pieces of fried pork and 2 pieces of pork gravy. Costs ₹270 They also have their signature "poita-bhaat", which is mild fermented rice with a assortment of side dishes...will try this next time. You can take refill of all the items of the thali except the meat. Overall, taste was good, service was quick. Ambience was good with AC running. Only issue might be lack of any parking space for 4 wheelers. As for 2 wheelers, there is no problem. Will visit again.

The place has only three tables to serve. I went to the place at around 2 PM. The lunch was not ready till then. After waiting for around half an hour the lunch was served. The quality and quantity of food is not bad but may be improved for better taste. The atmosphere was OK kinda but not recommended for big family or a couple as there are only three dining tables of 4 seater capacity each.

I ordered for a veg thali here and the food was delicious, served hot, maintaining the authentic Assamese style of cooking. It was neither too spicy nor too bland, just the right kind of blend of an Assamese food. Simple yet tasty and homely. I look forward to try their non veg and fish thali the next time.

There was only a lady (owner cum chef cum server) in that restaurant. She was not even welcoming at all. We felt very awkward when we entered. We ordered chicken thali and a veg thali with duck curry bambooshoot. Chiken curry and duck curry was horrible. The chicken seems like so many days before. There were two fried chicken pieces, and it seems it was fried in a fish-fried oil. The rest of the food was okay. Never recommended at all. If there was any option for a 0 star rating, I would love to go for that. Full wastage of money.

So finding a restaurant, which serves Poita Bhat was a delight, this comfort food of khati axomia is love. So anyway coming to the taste, it was good, homely cooked food, not too much masaledar, i quite enjoyed it actually. Definitely recommend if you are craving Poita Bhat.
