I'm an ex-student of B.Borooah College, I have completed my Graduation from this great institution. It's a great college it has excellent faculty and also good infrastructure but the only thing in which it lacks is the non-teaching office staffs, they all are very rude behaved and carries attitude more than vice-chancellor of any University. They don't treat students like human beings, they just ignore them. Rest everything is good ..... Regarding the cleanliness issue which I have witnessed visiting my college few days back, it cannot be entirely blamed to the college authority because students are the ones who make the campus dirty and keeping in mind that all are educated and high scoring candidates studying in this college they must try not to throw garbage here and there.

Very Dirty college especially where students sit together. Not even there are dustbin. The front side is showed clean and beautiful, but back pond side where people sit is entirely dirty, totally not expected from this prestigious A++ college !!! I urge the college authorities to look into this 🙏🙏🙏

This college did not meet my expectations. Although it has received a good grade from NAAC, the teaching quality is not satisfactory. Most professors teach in Assamese, which becomes very difficult for students like us who come from outside the state. The faculty should also think about non-assamese students and teach in a common language like English. It is not mentioned anywhere that this is only an Assamese-medium college....otherwise many of us would not have taken admission here. We expected classes in English, but after joining, we realized that the majority of subjects are taught in Assamese. Only a few professors teach properly in English. Even some extra subject classes are entirely in Assamese .....which makes it impossible for us to understand. The college administration and faculty should pay attention to this issue.

A quality college in the heart of Guwahati city. Quality education, quality culture and quality sports as the Nehru Stadium is nearby. Here are some more details from the website of the College: B. Borooah College was established in the year 1943 in the name of Bholanath Borooah, a doyen of Assamese business and a close associate of Sahityarathi Lakshminath Bezbaruah .It grew under the shadow of World War II and as a part of the nationalistic struggle against foreign rule. Classes (evening) started from 13th of September 1943 with 15 students in the premises of Kamrup Academy H.S. School. The pioneers of the college first started it as a night college in order to give an opportunity to the poor students to pursue their higher studies as they earned their livelihood during the day.The college has been associated with the names of many illustrious personalities. Bharat Ratna Gopinath Bordoloi, the first Chief Minister of Assam, was the first honorary Principal of the college. Charismatic Parliamentarian and a renowned man of letters, Hem Barua adorned the Principal’s chair for a long time. He was succeeded by Prof. Surendra Mohan Das, Dr. Promod Chandra Bhattacharya, Late Prasanna Kumar Sarma, Sri Dulal Chandra Borthakur, Sri H. C. Deka, Late D. K. Choudhury (in charge), Smti Bonti Choudhury (in-charge), Dr. (Mrs) Rekha Deka, Dr. Sunil Pawan Baruah (in-charge), Mrs Madhurima Das Deka (in-charge), Dr. Dinesh Baishya. At present Dr. Satyendra Nath Barman is serving as the Principal of this college..
