An admired college for veterinary science in Assam and the whole of Northeast Region. The campus is very urban and located in close proximity to popular places of Guwahati city and you can just drop off the city bus to get into the college without taking any subsidiary vehicles. It is a premier institution for studying veterinary science with well known alumni serving in the Northeast Region and all over India too. The campus is very large with good scenery in the middle of the city. There is a sports complex, a large Library, canteen and also a medical unit. It also has a teaching Veterinary Hospital. Hostels are well maintained and also have a free WiFi facility ๐.

Worst medical services, I took my dog there, the doctor prescribed medicine without examining him once, the interns are also not good they even don't know what medicine is given for which reason, my dog's health became more serious after taking the medicine and he finally died..and the clinic closes at 1pm if any emergency comes after that no doctor is available.

I hope this review gets noticed and reaches out to as many as possible. Please do give it a read, it's important. I have a male Labrador who is 11 months old at the moment but when he was 5 months old he got super sick. Three days he had continuously vomited, stopped eating and stopped drinking. As a worried Pet parent I waited for Monday to take him to the veterinary as according to The Government Assam Pets don't fall sick on Weekends so they keep the veterinary closed on weekends and do not provide any services. I took him and they barely made any efforts to follow a right procedure for the diagnosis and asked the exchange students to check my pets temperature and a rapid test for Parvo Virus. The doctor told me "He is mildly positive for parvo" and put him on heavy dosage medicine for parvo and the treatment lasted for 5 days but still he wasn't getting fine, one month got over when one day he puked out a rubber band that he swallowed, they didn't diagnose him initially and put him under a wrong treatment which till date makes him suffer. A wrong treatment can do many wrongs to both human and animals. For every dog that visits Veterinary they declare them as Parvo Positive. When my dog fell sick again they wrongly diagnosed him for babesia- the Doctor's name is Jadumani Kosari who was least bothered to even address my concerns. The System needs change and requires qualified vets who are actually concerned about a Pet's health. The Veterinary College made my pet more sick by providing wrong treatment. Get your Pets treated either at Pet and Vet or consult private vets.

Seems to be a small campus, but to be honest such a beautiful campus it is.

I have been working here for last 7 years. Job environment is satisfactory. However, in academic section there is a need of improvements. Rules and regulations seem to be OK. But need some maturity in administrative section. Official workflow is very slow. All officers need to learn computer so that official work does not stop by waiting for the expert to come and do the specific work.
