IIT Guwahati Old Guest House

Staying at the old guest house in IIT Guwahati was a really pleasant experience, and I’d happily give it a 5/5. The location itself is wonderful—nestled inside the lush green campus, it feels peaceful and refreshing, away from the usual noise of the city. Waking up to calm surroundings and greenery all around was definitely one of the highlights. The rooms are well-kept, spacious, and comfortable, with all the basic amenities you’d need for a short stay. The staff was courteous and helpful, always ready to assist, which made the experience smooth and hassle-free. I also appreciated how neat and tidy everything was, from the rooms to the common areas. The dining facilities were simple yet satisfying, with homely meals that felt comforting rather than overly fancy. It really added to the welcoming atmosphere of the place. What I liked most, though, was the overall charm of the guest house—it has an old but warm vibe, making it feel less like a commercial stay and more like a cozy, personal space. Combined with the serene IIT Guwahati environment, it’s a perfect place to stay if you’re visiting the campus. Definitely deserves a 5/5.

This guest house in old one, one new guest house is also nearby. But design wise or architecture wise, this guest house is better then new one, but facilities are less than new. In front of this guest house, one can find clean water body. Surrounding is very clean, serene and peaceful. In centre, one courtyard is present for walking. This guest house was also built without disturbing the landscape or in proper harmony with surrounding surroundings.

A very well maintained and spacious guest house of IIT Guwahati. The location is very scenic. Rooms are clean and have all the basic amenities.
