The castleton mansion

Stayed at this property couple of times, pitcures show a different story than in reality, my first stay i was given a old apartment, old linen, toilets not being cleaned, other guests knocking on my door for no reason, my second day i was moved to the Castleton mansion after i complained, Yesterday stay was even worse, rooms have maintainence issues, basic things like Hot water not available, rooms doesn't have door locks, no TV, and in the morning I was given toast and tea, and while I was checking out, other guests were given different breakfast, I don't think that all guests are treated the same at this place. After paying good amount for the stay with breakfast included, this was their service. Poorly manpowered, Staff were good, but the owner seems to be not worried about the place or the owner might have the trained the staff in this way. In simple words it was absolutely horrendous experience at this place.

Service boy at the reception was an amazing help as well as the aunty in the kitchen. Apart from that, online prices showed Rs 1,500/- per room. I didn't book and talked directly to the owner, on reaching, told me that the prices were Rs.3,000/- per room. One room didn't have a TV and the rooms smelled of cigarettes residue. I even informed the service boy to change the sheets, he did that but still the smell remained. So unfortunate to have such a beautiful property in an amazing area of Guwahati city and not keep it maintained at 2,500 per night. Negotiated at Rs.2,500/- per room, felt helpless that I was charged too high but being new to the city, I was out of options. We took two rooms, the bungalow was under maintenance, I understand that, but apart from that , nothing as shown online was seen in reality. Had to wake up the service boy early in the morning to switch on the pump since there was no water because the previous day 10 to 15 male came for a meeting of I don't know what sorts and must have finished up the water. We were on a medical related travel, so along with our errands, payment for the night had to be paid in advance everyday , which felt so awkward as if I'm going to run away without paying my due share of quotes price. All in all thumbs down. Hope the host take this review in all positives and try to change what's lacking in a Homestay atmosphere.

Fantastic hospitality! We stayed here for a tournament and the team at Castleton Mansion made everything easy. Abhigyan was professional, kind, and proactive in helping us get to our venue on time. The overall stay was pleasant.

I had a very bad experience. The behaviour of the owner and the staff was extremely rude, and it seemed like they don’t like children. If you have kids, I would not recommend visiting this place. There was also no water available. Overall, the attitude of the lady owner and the female staff was very disappointing.

The rooms size is good but the floor were not at all clean, pathetic service. The breakfast was free but the chapati they provided us was sour in taste. Will never recommend this to any of my friends.

The Aunty in the kitchen is too rough, don’t have proper utensils to cook, poor bathroom quality, geyser don’t work, water problem. No dustbin in room even goodnight machine doesn’t work.
