I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my extremely disappointing stay at your Ginger property Guwahati from 17th to 20th January 2026, where I stayed in Room No. 224 under the names Makarand Naik and Sanket Surve||We chose Ginger expecting the basic service standards associated with the IHCL brand; however, the experience was far below acceptable hospitality norms.||On one of the days during our stay, I personally informed the front office in the morning to ensure that the room was cleaned while I was away at work. I returned to the hotel around 4:30 PM, only to find that the room had not been cleaned at all. Upon informing the front office, I was told that housekeeping had been informed and they “might have missed it.” Later, another explanation was given stating that housekeeping was not informed, indicating serious internal communication failures and contradictory statements from staff.||Subsequently, senior staff explained that due to high occupancy, the room could not be cleaned. This explanation is completely unacceptable. High occupancy cannot justify neglecting basic housekeeping responsibilities, especially after a specific request was made.||What was even more concerning is that even after I personally informed the hotel manager in the evening, while I was seated in the restaurant for dinner, the room still remained uncleaned. This clearly reflects a lack of accountability and concern for guest expectations.||In addition to housekeeping issues, the overall maintenance of the room was extremely poor, as clearly visible in the attached photographs:| • The picture frame behind the bed was completely tilted and poorly fixed, reflecting negligence in basic upkeep.| • The air-conditioner wiring was exposed and hanging directly in front, posing both a safety concern and showing lack of maintenance.| • While preparing tea in the morning, I noticed that the electric kettle was in extremely poor and unhygienic condition, making it unfit for use.||These are not minor issues; they indicate serious lapses in room inspection, maintenance, and hygiene standards.||Additionally, the dining experience was equally disappointing. The restaurant operates through a third-party, and there are no nearby food options, leaving guests with no alternative. Unfortunately, the restaurant staff appeared poorly trained and struggled to take even basic orders. One of my colleagues requested a simple plate of carrot and cucumber, which the staff was unable to provide. Such service levels are unacceptable in the hospitality industry.||While I understand that certain factors such as surrounding infrastructure may be beyond the hotel’s control, room cleanliness, maintenance, staff coordination, and service quality are entirely the hotel’s responsibility. Unfortunately, none of these met even minimum expectations during our stay.||We stayed at this property trusting the Ginger and IHCL brand promise, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Based on this stay, I would not recommend Ginger Hotels to anyone unless immediate corrective actions are taken.||I request IHCL management to review this matter seriously and inform us of the actions taken to prevent such experiences for future guests.||Looking forward to your response.||Sincerely,|Makarand Naik|Sanket Surve

Not a good hotel... Avoid it... Pro Good parking space Rooms are ok Staffs are very well behaved Food rate feasible but cons below Cons Too much mosquitoes Outside construction noise Power cut several times Outside road terrible state Food taste wether breakfast or dinner by paying not at all good quality or taste... Avoid this hotel I had no other option but to book from company portal so had to book but better see other options... One thing is there staffs tries a lot to overcome challenges but nothing to do shortcomings are more..

Stayed at Ginger Guwahati from 23rd November to 28th November 2025. The Staff at reception was quite polite and cooperative. Ms. Sabnam at reception was quite helpful and professionally excellent. She helped us choose a better plan. Because of her convincing ability, we decided to stay at the hotel despite the fact that there is a dump yard near the hotel. The rooms were small, but cozy. The housekeeping staff were friendly, well trained and professionally excellent. Smt. Padumi Sharma was quite helpful and professional. She always cleaned the room nicely and changed the bed sheet, pillow covers every day. The food (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner) delicious!!! And serving staff at dining were also helpful and excellent! Biswa & Fardeen were quite helpful and professionally excellent! The only thing, the hotel management to improve upon is to go for a ‘pest control’, as there are so many small cockroaches may be almost in each and every room. Nice hotel reception with amicable staff. Good room for family of three but less spacious. Good double bed with bed linen. Toilets and bathroom are clean with adequate toiletries. Cold and Hot water shower avalable. Free WiFi and Parking facilities. Complimentary breakfast with variety of options to eat. Lift available.

I had a terrible and unacceptable experience at Ginger Guwahati. After completing check-in and entering the room, I found the room to be full of mosquitoes. It was impossible to stay even for a few minutes. This clearly shows poor hygiene standards and zero pest control, which is extremely dangerous for guests, especially considering health risks like dengue and malaria. I immediately informed the hotel staff, but no effective solution was provided. The response was casual and irresponsible, as if such conditions are normal. Due to this serious hygiene issue, I was forced to change the hotel on my own, causing mental stress, inconvenience, and financial loss. This experience is completely against the basic expectations from a branded hotel like Ginger. Paying guests expect at least a clean, safe, and mosquito-free room, which this hotel clearly failed to provide. I strongly do NOT recommend Ginger Guwahati to anyone. This hotel is not worth the money and does not meet even minimum hospitality standards.

Comfortable Stay. Ginger Guwahati was welcoming.Smooth Checkin..no hassle..Room was ready on time..clean bed and towel provided.. dental kit given.. Complementary bottle water provided free of cost.Extra mattress was also provided without any charges.Dinner was really good in raste.. although with limited options. They gave us packed breakfast as well as we checked out early morning.. Staff behaviour was also good.. Ginger stand with their Brand Name..But Ginger Guwahati location is of Concern(dumping ground/roads are in bad shape).Thank you Ginger Guwahati

Decent stay with a well known brand name. It's a bit interior so no market access and not easy to see even in broad day light. Market is roughly 2-3 kms away. Good food, decent stay. Needs improvement on room stay services such as quality of room and key access specifically.
