I would like to give a fiver star, but I can't. Our check in here was around 7 pm and we asked for breakfast take away but they say it's not possible because kitchen is closed. Our check out was before 6 am. The dinner was good. Not perfect but also in that price no need to wait for that. The second thing which I really don't like it was the hand towels. They had to be in other hotels bath mats. The rest was ok. Clean room.

I assume you're reading this as you're considering staying at the Home Hotel Grand Bodo and are working on comparing it to the other hotels on offer. Let me save you lots of time - This is absolutely the best hotel in Bodo. Its spotlessly clean, the staff are brilliant and it has undercover car parking. However, what really makes it stand out is the food. Breakfast is a high quality buffet. There's free afternoon tea and cakes and a free evening salad / soup buffet. With the cost of food in Bodo being so high, these value-added things alone make the hotel stand out. Really looking forward to going back.

This place was just so cozy and welcoming! From the minute we walked through the door, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. The room was very comfortable, with lots of space, and also a nice spacious bathroom. Everything was very clean, calm, quiet and just designed for comfort. While we arrived a bit too late for the afternoon Fika, we were in time for the complimentary evening meal. I was quite surprised, I didn't expect it to be so good to be honest. There was a lovely soup, main course was salmon, and lots of salad/vegetables. Together with the rest, it made for great value on the stay. The location is central, and easily reachable on public transport from the airport (or would have been from the station, had the original plan to arrive by train worked out). Also convenient for the ferry to Svolvaer. I really hope to be able to visit Bodo again, and will definitely stay here if I can!

This was an exceptional stay for us, and we have stayed in a lot of Choice hotels both in the US and in Europe. Yes, the staff was helpful and the room pleasant, but the part I liked most was the common area. It was designed to have many niches so that you could truly enjoy your dining or lounging in semi-privacy. While it was cozy, it also had an elegant atmosphere to it with high ceilings and a huge, magnificent mirror that had survived the hotel burning down long ago. The complimentary breakfast buffet was outstanding, and the free evening meal a welcome surprise. The location was good...around the corner from the main thoroughfare...so it was quiet but close to the center of Bodo.

In a town that seems full of hotels, this hotel seems to have set itself apart with its home concept. Evening meal is included in the room rate and we thought the food was very good. You can also have a 'fika' in the afternoon! Given that room rates seem similar to other hotels, this makes it very good value for money in a country that doesn't always seem that way! We found all the staff to be very pleasant and the room generally excellent, although I am not sure how long I could tolerate the super-small bathroom. Perhaps that was just a feature of our particular room. Would definitely stay again and will look into other Strawberry hotels in the future. Highly recommended.

I run a small group tour company called Scottish Dream Tours and I have been conducting small group tours for almost 30 years. My dealing with the management at Home Hotel Grand in Bodo were the worst I have dealt with in those 30 years. Because the booking system would only allow me to make a booking of 6 rooms, I had to make 2 separate bookings as we needed 11 rooms. I noticed that when I tried to make the first reservation booking, the the system moved my booking ahead by 1 day. I corrected this on the second booking and immediately informed the hotel that both bookings were meant to be for the same 2 days as we would all be arriving on the same day and all be departing on the same day. The hotel informed me that I had a booking for 23rd and 24th October and a booking for 24th and 25th October and they could not be changed. I tried and tried to explain that an error had been made and that the bookings were all for the same 2 days, the 24th and 25th of October. The bookings included breakfast and dinner. The hotel refused to budge and change the dates to the correct booking dates. Instead, the insisted that I paid for an extra night of dinner, bed and breakfast even though we would never be using the rooms on the 23rd. I have never experience in almost 30 years of business such an unwillingness to be helpful and to do the right things. This of course completely spoiled our stay and I will never do business with Home Hotels again because of some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

We had an overnight stay at the Home Hotel Grand as we were passing through Bodo on our way to the Lofoten Islands. The hotel was easy to find, well located near the waterfront and the busy pedestrian shopping street. The code for the under-hotel parking area worked great and we were able to easily find our assigned space. To be honest, our room was uninspiring – rather small with an internal atrium view. The bathroom was tiny, definitely a 1-person deal. When you sit on the toilet, your legs go into the shower! There was no fridge and no smart TV – but at least the internet worked well so we could watch TV on our computer. On the positive side, the room was clean and comfortable and we had a good, peaceful sleep. We ate the buffet dinner at the restaurant which was included in the price. It was good for the most part – great salads and breads – however the main course (hot dogs) was a disappointment, and no dessert. I expected there to be at least a few options for the main course. We left too early to eat at the breakfast buffet, but we did receive a decent bagged lunch to eat on the ferry. Overall we had a good stay and would recommend it to other travelers.

First of all I want to thank all the staff in that hotel for being so professional and kind.||This hotel is ideal if you come to Bodø by boat, becouse is super near the port otherwise if you arrive by plane it’s only 15 minutes walking.||The room was super clean and the beds were fairly comfortable (I can give this opinion becouse I slept in a lot of hotels and it’s not easy to sleep that comfortable).||The breakfast and dinner are included in the booking. Both very good and even more when you go outside to eat and you check how much is the price for 1 meal. That is one of the best things that this hotel has.||Also they let us do the check in 2 hours before becouse we we super tired of the boat and I want to say thank you again for that.||So don’t have a doubt to go here becouse you will leave the hotel feeling that for sure you did the best option.||||
