Thon Hotel Nordlys

Not much to share really, this is an above average hotel, comfortable, clean, nice service, good breakfast buffet, excellent location, great wifi, comfortable bed & linens .... all at an "OK" price for Norway. I didn't find anything negative, nor did I find anything special.

Nice and clean room with beautiful view towards harbor. ||We traveled with two dogs and still could book a very nice room. In many hotels the pet rooms are the worst ones without any view but I am happy to see that Thon Hotels are a very positive surprise. I highly recommend when traveling with pets and want to enjoy the view and high quality room.||And the service in the hotel as well as the breakfast were excellent!

Very nice Scandinavian hotel. Near the harbor and close to the town center. The breakfast is amazing and Egon restaurant attached to hotel is very good.

The hotel is located right across the small harbor, just a short walk from shops, restaurants and the the city center. |My room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. I enjoyed a good night’s sleep as the room was dark and quiet. I also overheard a person saying at breakfast that this hotel was the best so far, because it was quiet! |The breakfast was superb, very delicately spread out with a lot of healthy options (and some less healthier ones for the sweet tooth). Everything was fresh and delicious. |The only thing that was a minus for me, was parking. I arrived on a motorcycle, and besides street parking they offered a parking garage for a set fee of 250 NOK. But the parking garage was a couple of buildings away, and not attached to the hotel, so it would have been extremely impractical for me to haul all my gear the whole way. |There’s also a small Aimo parking next to the hotel, but they charge you 24/7. I opted for the street parking, since I was lucky to find a spot really close to the hotel entrance. |So, apart from the parking issue, this is a fabulous hotel and I have no problem recommending it!

We stayed in a junior suite with a sea view. The hotel were very responsive to messages ahead of our visit and the room was ready with the sofa bed already made up ahead of our arrival. The sea view of the harbour was incredible and definitely worth requesting. The breakfast selection was extremely good and we ate in the restaurant a couple of times during our short stay as it was convenient and had a wide selection of options. ||Coffee was available in the lobby at all times and it is only a very short taxi ride or 15 minute walk from the airport. It is very central and handy for the harbour and the restaurants in the centre of Bodo. The reception staff were helpful and very responsive with any queries. Overall it was very good value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

The staff was polite and the room was clean. The stay was good overall, but I noticed that a kitchen employee swore when a guest arrived for breakfast, even though it was 10 minutes before closing, and spoke negatively about it to colleagues.

Great rooms and very convenient location, but the highlight is definitely the absolutely magnificent breakfast. Very copius buffet with a range of options truly exceptional at this price point the quality of said options was equally amazing and would definitely come back mainly for the breakfast. The rooms themselves were great and clean but only had a window on the interior of the hotel. The staff was helpful.

It’s a perfect hotel for a weekend stay with family and friends. You can get a late checkout and the breakfast serves until 11. A big bonus that the restaurant serves until midnight. The breakfast is very good.
