rimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra is a cultural museum of Assam, built in the 1990s. It is located in the Panjabari area of Guwahati city. It is an art and cultural complex showcasing the entire Northeast region in a single complex. There is also a beautiful park for children. It is a major tourist attraction in Guwahati. It was built to represent the culture and life of Assam. The Kalakshetra is named after Srimanta Sankaradeva, the great Vaishnava saint, poet, and playwright who unified the people of Assam. The complex houses various art facilities. Cultural festivals and dance performances are regularly held in its open-air theatre, which has a capacity of 2000 people. The literature and fine arts building is also quite popular. The museum, open spaces, traditional houses, Bhupen Hazarika Gallery, and art exhibitions together create a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. There are swings and other amenities for children. You can easily spend 4 to 5 hours here, learning about the lifestyle of the entire Northeast India in one complex. It is a nice place to visit, culturally very rich spot. One must visit this place for the museum where our kala krishti sangeet gayan bayan etc. are being conserved many cultural programs take place here. It is a vast area and there are model assamese villages. The gates open with xatriya nritya and the sanekis of Ahom like rang ghar and talatal ghar. We took a lot of snaps there. When you go there yourself, then only you know how what a rich heritage we Assamese people have actually. We also met Pranjal Saikia the famous Assamese film star there in Ramdhenu Mela 2026.

Beautiful places. We visited music section building only. Nearest place for good veg food is Shreekrishna resturant. Opposite to the museum is a bakery (don't eat samosa or drink tea it's crappy) and a momos shop (Darjeeling Momos). This momos shop is the best. Overall, satisfactory trip after Umananda. Opens till 7:45 PM and alcharges are 50 Rs per person.

Beautiful place, if kept clean & maintained well. For now there is lack of maintenance & very laid back attitude of the staff that some of the museum area we had to open the door ourselves & see the artifacts. The toilet is in shabby condition, the walk way, stairs & even the artifacts inside the glass display has cob webs, the walls are chipping.
