In a rapidly growing city like Guwahati, where new cafes pop up every day, Mahamaya Restaurant stands as a beautiful reminder of the past. It remains unchanged, focusing on serving warm, simple, and flavorful food that fills both the heart and the stomach. It is a place of local legend, growing up, I always heard how famous this establishment was and how almost everyone in the city has shared a meal here at least once. It is rare to find a spot that offers such a soulful experience without costing a fortune. The Experience While I haven't had the chance to enjoy a full meal yet, I finally stopped by for their highly recommended tea, and it did not disappoint. In the chill of the Guwahati winter, it was exactly what I needed. Review 👇 The Tea: ☕ Perfectly brewed and lives up to the hype. A must-try! The Service: What truly made the visit special was the gentleman who served us. Despite being a first-time visitor, he spoke to us with such warmth and familiarity that it felt like he had known us for years. The Vibe: Authentic, unpretentious, and nostalgic. Will Be back soon for the meal

One of the oldest food joints situated in guwahati city. They serve both veg & nonveg items for lunch & dinner. We ordered a plate of roti, omelette , 2 teas and a bottle of water which only cost 80/- rupees. Food was also fresh and tasty.

Mahamaya Restaurant is an absolute gem in Guwahati's culinary landscape! Their Mutton Pulao is simply legendary – perfectly cooked, aromatic, and bursting with authentic flavors that keep you coming back for more. The Chicken Pulao is equally delightful. It's a true taste of tradition and a must-visit for anyone looking for an iconic dining experience in Pan Bazaar. Highly recommended!

Mahamaya in Pan bazar is not just a simple old restaurant but it's a emotion for us, the architecture of the place, the ambiance of the place , the taste of the food of this place all remember us how quickly we grow up The paratha with chai with money ask from mom and the pulao manxo with friends is one of the best moments here One should definitely try their pulao manxo and Paratha paratha is just bit oily but you can ignore as it's an emotion for us One should definitely visit this restaurant as its really provide good quality food at such low cost The restaurant need to be popular because it's deserve it more than anyone else 🙌🏻 Thank you and follow for more.

This is one of guwahati's oldest food points. They serve you lunch and dinner thali's. Both veg and non - veg meals are prepared. Pulao and chicken in mahamaya is the best combination ever tried. The three storey building of the restaurants today was built in 1948.

One of the oldest restaurant of Guwahati. Place is small but nice...You can feel the old vibe there. Price is very less and quality is awesome. I tried egg pulao which cost only 40 but taste is very good.

A century old restaurant keeping up the legacy! Food was good, simple and homely! Very affordable! Felt like I time travelled back to 1918. Must visit!

One of the last vestiges of old-world Guwahati charm. Once an intellectual ‘adda’, the restaurant serves tea and small meals at very reasonable price.
