Pros I contacted the owner Nripen beforehand via email to make a reservation. Replies were quick but short, not always answering my questions properly. The Maibong Eco Resort is a 5 min drive from the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary. The owner and staff are nice and try to help out whenever you need something. A jeepsafari could be arranged on a short notice. If you come for the rhinos, I highly recommend Kaziranga National Park where you'll also have a very high chance of seeing them in larger numbers. Cons The cabin I stayed in was in a very old state. It seemed the bathroom had not been cleaned before my arrival: there were poops of insects/lizards everywhere. Some maintenance could be done to improve the state of the cabin, or adjust the price accordingly. For the price asked (3200INR single occupancy), eventhough breakfast and dinner were included, I think the accomodation is overpriced for what you get. The staff could at least have cleaned the bathroom. The toiletpaper provided was very hard. I usually don't mind these things but for the price asked, it would have been nice to get some softer toiletpaper. No extra thin blanket available to use under the thick blankets which are used by all guests without being washed after each use. After a very nice Indian breakfast on the 1st day, the English breakfast with white bread on the 2nd day was a huge dissapointment! The accomodation is next to the main road and lots of trucks pass during the day, so if you're sensitive to sounds bring earplugs. Another tip if you're an eco resort: Stop handing out plastic water bottles at every meal. It does not help with all the plastic waste that's already there and doesn't do your name "eco resort" justice. Provide guests with a large jug with water instead. And a tip for the staff: Please be aware of the agreed rates mentioned to the guests beforehand. At check-in the staffmember mentioned a different rate for the same room, which was higher than the agreed rate mentioned by the owner in the email beforehand. After I showed him the agreed rate, he corrected himself.

A rustic peaceful property with cozy clean rooms and cottages having all modern facilities. Great service and food by a team led by the owner himself.|The location is also just right. Only about 10 mins from the Park entrance by Jeep.|The owner a nature lover himself, the property looked like a haven for various kinds of birds. The greatest attraction was a flock of hornbills in the property itself. It was thrilling to watch and take photos of these birds from such close quarters.|We could not have asked for more !!

Excellent location, polite staff, and very good service. The food which they provide here was very tasty and unforgettable. The location is near to the national park, and they have arranged jeep trip, elephant safari and Brahmaputra boating for us. We even had a rare sight of around 50 hornbills just near to our room. The one and only negative point is that the rooms are little old and need some renovation.

Visited in Sep 2025 when Pobitora was closed. Inspite of that Nipen da and his team made a wonderful healthy and hearty Assamese lunch for us. It was the best meal that we had on our visit of the North east. I want to appreciate Nipen da for being a champion for the tourism community around Pobitora. We were able to get a Rhino sighting not far from the place but hopefully will return sometime in season.

Very basic amenities.room was quite damp and cold. A couple of blankets were given which had no cover on them. I had to ask for a top sheet. Just about ok for one night. Food was very basic too.

We did not stay here but stopped by for lunch. I recommend this place for clean authentic Assamese meals. The seating is by a lotus pond, which truly takes the experience up a notch.
