Gibbon Backpackers Hostel

When you first come in here, you ll think it's a pretty nice dorm. The care taker is nice & chill. But once you settle up, the beds are infested with bugs. Very itchy unable to sleep. Also there are frequent power cuts and it gets very hot without the fan. You can't even open the windows cause there's lots of mosquitos too. All in all you are cooked. Wish this place was maintained well.

Great hostel to stay in Guwahati. Staff here is friendly and helpful. 5 stars to Anupama (Annie) who was very professional and helped us with valuable information, connected us to people who helped us with bike rental ILP etc. AC rooms are comfy and quiet. Good quality place for a reasonable price.

Well, where should I even start? Let’s just say THIS IS PROBABLY THE WORST HOSTEL YOU CAN STAY IN ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. I’m writing this review at 3:30 a.m., wide awake, because I genuinely feel unsafe and that’s saying something because I’m a guy. The environment here is absolutely uncomfortable. People are openly using what seems like illegal substances, and there’s zero supervision or accountability. The owner, Mr. Javed, seriously needs to take a long, hard look at what’s happening in his property. It’s clear he’s just handed over the place to anyone willing to run it, probably for the sake of quick money, without caring about the experience of the guests. The beds are disgusting they’re infested with insects that make sleeping nearly impossible. And the walls? Don’t even get me started. The place looks LESS like a hostel and MORE like a run-down mental asylum. It’s not “aesthetic” or “bohemian” in any way it’s just poorly maintained, dirty, and depressing. Come on, Mr. Javed, this is not how hospitality works. If you’re running a hostel, have some respect for your customers. Respect the service you’re providing. Respect the quality of your space. You can’t expect travelers to come all the way here and deal with something that feels this unsafe and unhygienic. Im not here to spread hate or Something, i genuinely feel unsafe right now, i really want to come back to this place because this is in a good location but.. I genuinely hope that by the time I visit again if I ever do you’ve turned this place around. Because right now, this hostel doesn’t deserve to be called a “backpackers” place at all.

The guy who manages the place is actually nice and helpful, But bhai the bed, bedsheets and walls are soo dirty, everything needs serious improvement. The beds have insects, the rooms are dirty, and the walls give off a very negative vibe. Overall, my experience was really bad, and I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anyone at least not until things get much better here. I hope the management teams gets to see this and make this hostel a better place, coz CLEAN BED without the bedbugs are just a bare minimum one can expect from the hostels bhai, (no hate just a genuine review)

Do not get fooled by the pics (I did). A fully run down place with shocking experience. It’s simply a waste of my time to even give a negative review but with a need to create awareness and place my words of caution, I say it’s a dirty place with filthy beds. I stepped in, paid, got one look at the place and checked out.

The place is really badly infested with bed bugs. After a week of staying here for just a night, my whole body is still covered with hundreds of bite marks. I had stayed here 2 years back, it was a bit rundown but had a good vibe. Now, it's just uninhabitable. Needs serious upgrade.

Best place to stay for bachelor and travellers. Host is very humble and chill guy🫡🧘 I loved the stay being there and wish to visit again🎯🏃

Not safe. Everything here smoking and drinking. No locks in room. No privacy. If you are couple or family, I'll suggest don't come here.
