I am honestly shocked (in a good way!) by how amazing this hostel is. It’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in India. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff and the owner are extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. They are always ready to help with anything you need, whether it’s travel tips or local recommendations. The best part is that it’s very affordable and totally worth the price. Great atmosphere, great people, and great value for money! I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone traveling in India. I will surely come back again!

Just book it — you won’t regret it. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and there was a proper kitchen, hall, and sitting area. Everything was perfect and well maintained. I planned to stay for two days but ended up staying one more day — that’s the vibe of this place. Especially if you are a girl and a solo traveller, this is a great place to stay. I didn't feel unsafe even for a bit. Some people have been staying here for over a year, there's something special about this place . I just can’t wait to stay here again!

ZBH has been one of my best experiences at any hotel/hostel. The place easily beats most backpacker hostels and even most of the fancy 3 to 5 star hotels. The people I met here from different parts of the country and the world were amazing. The stories, the experiences and more were even better. The owner Joshua and the managers Brandon and Jatin were beyond hospitable, kind, fun and helpful. I would recommend everyone to visit it at least once. I will be coming here every single time I'm in Guwahati! Cheers! ✨

Love last-minute cancellations and ghosting? Zion Hostel might be your dream stay!!!!! Ah, the joys of planning a trip during Dussehra with friends fun, excitement, and of course... *being stranded* because your hostel decided to cancel your confirmed booking *one day before check-in*. After multiple detailed conversations with the owner of **Zion Hostel**, we booked dorm rooms for 7 people in **both Guwahati and Shillong**, paid the advance, and even got a confirmation. Sounds solid, right? Wrong. Just 24 hours before our stay, the owner suddenly messaged us, claiming the government had issued a directive not to allow dorm bookings due to *“political turmoil between Assam and Meghalaya”*. Strangely though, **private rooms were still allowed**. How convenient. We cross-verified with several other hostels in the area—**no one had heard of such a rule**. When we confronted him, the owner stopped responding to calls altogether. No help, no empathy, no alternate arrangements. Just a vague promise of a refund. Now here’s the kicker: we called the hostel from a different number, pretending to be new customers. Guess what? **Magically, dorms were available again.** No political tension. No restrictions. Just business as usual. A true Houdini act in hospitality. Traveling during a major festival like Dussehra, with 7 people, and getting abandoned last-minute is not just inconvenient it’s a nightmare. This experience showed us exactly how unreliable and unprofessional Zion Hostel is. **Bottom line: If you enjoy playing “will they cancel or won’t they?” with your travel bookings, Zion is perfect for you. Otherwise, avoid at all costs. You deserve peace of mind, not plot twists.**

Came here for 2 days and ended up staying for a week. That’s what good places does to you. Well maintained, neat and cosy. You’re in for a treat if its raining, just to sit outside on the table at the entrance, a perfect spot to chill and relax. The host is super friendly and helpful and would help you with offbeat itineraries with details that would not otherwise make it on google. Recommended for a peaceful and comfortable stay.

Worst experience ever. We booked dorms at Zion Hostel for our group trip during the festive season. After confirming and paying the advance, we thought we were good to go. Just a day before our stay, the owner canceled, giving us a bizarre story about political issues and government rules. We later found out it was all false—he was still accepting new bookings. Felt completely cheated. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.
