This is the old building of Gauhati High Court which was established in 5th April 1948 for the then province of Assam. This high Court is unique one whereby a single institution exercises jurisdiction throughout the entire North East Region of India until 2013

The High Court of Assam and Nagaland come in existence in the Year 1948.At that time Tripura, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh was part of Assam.In the year 1971 this High Court name was changed to Gauhati High court.Present old building of Gauhati High court is well maintained and surrounded by beautiful Dighalipukhuri

It's a Heritage building, high court musium is on the 1st floor . Must to visit if you are in a legal feild.
