Visitors from other states like us came here with high expectations. From entrance, the gardens were well maintained and this have achieved the only star for the review of this place. The museum is patheticly managed. 1. Displayed artefacts were not sorted in categories. 2. Artefacts were not just dirty, they were drenched in dust. 3. Minimal information left us guessing about the items. 5. Several names were written in Roman Assamese. We had to Google those to know more about such items. Museums serve as vital pathways to empathy, community connection, and cultural understanding, moving beyond just preserving objects to actively guiding public interpretation of society. They foster education, sustainability, and inclusion, acting as, interactive spaces for exploring history, science, and art while building a better, more informed future. You will NOT find anything like this happening here. This place is better as gardens for spending evenings and not as a museum.

Also the surrounding of the place is also very preety neet and clean. Also outside area has so much statues a very unique fountain many more. the gate of the kala khetra also has its own beauty. We are on a educational college trip to guwahati in 2018 that time we visited srimanta sankardev kalakhetra. We mesmerized by witnessing all the beauty of assam preserved there. It was a great experience. If you are in assam srimanta sankardev kalakhetra is one of the must visit place♥️.

The Sankardeva Kalakshetra Museum attracts a number of visitors, who are interested in the ethnic art and cultural diversity of Assam. There is also an artists’ village within the premises, which the tourists can visit. The scenic view of hills is another attraction for the tourists. There is another museum called the Bhupen Hazarika Museum dedicated to the famous folk singer of Assam that can be visited. At times performances are organized in the open-air theatre of the institute for the visitors.
