Over the years I have visited the planetarium many times. Each time I'm like a little kid eager n excited to see, feel the shows n ready to learn...the planetarium is one place where i can just let my imagination take me with the show beyond the stars n galaxy. But I must say the present show about isro n how indian space program grew is MORE EDUCATIONAL THAN FUN. WAS A BIT Boring according to me. The previous shows about the planets and galaxies were more interesting. Hope the management re-introduces those interesting shows again.

The Guwahati Planetarium is a center for astronomical education and research. Built in 1994, it is the oldest planetarium in Assam and North-Eastern India.(At present Assam have 4 more planetarium -jorhat,nalbari, Lakhimpur, kokrajhar)Its distinctive dome and sloping walls set it apart from the skyline of the area. Nice ❤️ Guwahati Planetarium, located in the heart of the city, is an excellent destination for science enthusiasts, students, and families interested in astronomy and space science. The planetarium offers engaging shows that explain complex celestial concepts in an easy-to-understand and visually appealing manner. The dome-shaped theatre provides a clear and immersive experience, making visitors feel as if they are traveling through the stars and exploring the universe firsthand. The facility is well maintained, and seating arrangements are comfortable for visitors of all ages. Staff members are knowledgeable and assist with queries, guiding school groups and tourists through the schedule of shows and exhibits. The planetarium also occasionally hosts workshops and educational programs, which are particularly helpful for students and young learners interested in science and technology. Though the venue is relatively small compared to major city planetariums, it effectively combines learning and entertainment. Cleanliness is maintained, and the ticketing process is smooth. Visiting during weekdays or non-peak hours ensures a more relaxed experience. Overall, Guwahati Planetarium is a fantastic educational attraction, offering both entertainment and knowledge, making it an ideal spot for families, school trips, and anyone curious about astronomy and the mysteries of the cosmos.

it's alright, but could be so much better. compared to others, the show and virtual reality sets are not worth that much praise, but it wasn't a bad experience, either. the astronomy gallery was very well built and the ideas were amazing, but the maintenance is bad, leading to a lot of the displays being non-functional. most don't even enter the astronomy gallery since it's not easily visible and nobody points it out. two other plus points are 1. the air conditioning is used and is in good condition, and 2. there's a real (albeit small) meteorite on display. by the way, if you're planning on going,, keep in mind that they only allow you to get tickets 10 minutes before a show starts. so for example, for a 4 pm show, you could only get tickets from 3:50 pm onwards
